So far i have rockford fosgate FNP1614 components installed up front that are being pushed by my pioneer p2000 deck. In the back i have 2 12inch soundstream SPL's which are dual 4 ohm. I made a box to fit my trunk well, which was sealed but is now ported. As it is now i have a directed 600d sub amp stable to 1 ohm puts out a rated 773watts RMS. after i make a decient install on that with an amp rack ill put new pics up. while im waiting I have it in there and already got it dbed. I had it dbed before installed the ports and hit a respectively 138.7dbs. not bad for 2 12's, but i knew i could get more than that. Remember i only have 10 gauge power wire, and had to remove the fuse cuz it kept popping. i ported it within a day of the first db test and just got it dbed again (yes still with the 10 gauge wire) and I had lost all of my EQ settings and didnt remember to reset them, and hit a very nice 141.7dbs. this is also at and altitude of 5600ft and bass is made by moving air(less air at altiitude=less SPL) i belive with the EQ set right i might of hit a 142 or close. now i have to upgrade power wire, get a cap and new charging system and a new deck with 4v preouts or higher(instead of my measly 1.8 supplied by my pioneer)
Heres my ride. those are 16" fittipaldi rims on that. looks smaller than 16". P225 R60 Pirelli tires. I would like to throw some 20" rims with about a 30 series rubber on it. Any info where I can get a good price would be helpful. I am also going to paint it pearl white and get some blue shelby stripes down the middle. also doing my own white outs on the rear tail lights. will post those pics when i get it done.
Heres the box before I ported it and took off the grills.
Heres the finished product after I ported it. Also took the 80's style grills off. Sorry you cant see the ports, but trust me theyre there. The box is made of 3\4 MDF with a brace goin up the middle for extra support because it was flexing pretty bad. My ports are located in the back one on each extreme side, they are 4 inch diameter ABS piping 16.5 inches long each. I had SMITH AUDIO design the ports specifically for this box and my subs, which seemed to do the job. my peak SPL is at around 42 hz. there is a small iasca competition comming up and im goin to compete in it because people are encouraging me too.
Heres the amp rack. every single wire goes into a hole of its own. very small amp, but class D mono sub amp(in other words small size big power) This amp is running at 1 ohms and doing well. The rack is on hinges so its easy to get to the wire on the back.
Heres my components can only see the tweeter but there is a mid range in the grill. The tweeter is a flush mount swivel install. as you can see I have altered the paint on the lock cover to white. I have done that on a lot of the interior of my car.
I am now using my rockford fosgate punch 40 for my highs, which sound sweet.I want to get either and alpine deck, clarion or the pioneer dh7000. I would like to have something with 4.5v or more pre amp outputs and a sub out. Also sorry about the poor pics and bad wording, all I had at the moment was a polaroid camera.
