This is my daily driver, in fact, my only driver. I could buy something more fuel efficient, but my van serves me many a purpose. It's my living room, rec room, bedroom, home away from home. I've gone coast to coast to coast with her, East Coast, West Coast, Dirty South, can't forget the Midwest too! But yeah, lots of memories and stories to tell in the 7 years I've owned my van. I wouldn't trade her for anything!
This is what I started out with: 1995 GMC Vandura 2500 Red-E-Kamp conversion

After the suspension drop

Right now, she isn't far from stock, but then I'm also far from finished! I started with a 2"/3" drop, clear side markers that don't stand out as badly as the stock ones (painted to match), Flowmaster exhaust, and of course, a K&N air filter. Good thing I only have to wash it every 50k miles. With a van, it's not as easy as just opening the hood to get to the air cleaner! She's got a 350 TBI under the doghouse good for 210 hp and 340 lb/ft torque. Oh yeah, she's a one-tire fryer! But she was made for cruisin' and when the time came for it, haulin' too. So speed and performance isn't exactly a priority of mine. Though I always enjoy hearing the rumble of the pipes while driving.
For wheels, I had three choices in mind: Supremes, wires and Cragar S/S's in that order. Turns out the studs on my van were too big for the Supremes to fit. So there went that idea. I really think a set of Daytons would have looked really nice, either 15" or 17". But then being a daily driver I'd have to constantly clean them, all 400 spokes! So that left me with my last choice...

...a set of 15x8 Cragar S/S's. They don't look too bad in my opinion, not too far off from the look of the Supremes that I really had wanted. Here you see the bullet cap on it. I plan on replacing the S/S caps later on when my van is closer to completion.

Other changes I've made lately, I finally got the fender emblems off and shaved the holes. What a pain in the arse that was! Only if you had a G-van like mine you would know. I also peeled off most of the stripes. I was gonna take 'em all off, but decided that it would look better with some stripes on. Also, the horizontal lines make the van appear lower in overall height. You might also notice that I switched out the GMC headlight bezels for the Chevy ones. They took a little tweaking for them to fit, but they look a lot better with the added chrome on the front end.
There are other changes in store, like a new grille, rectangular "Euro style" headlights, 1970-76 bumpers, new mirrors, shaved door handles, hidden hinges and yes, side pipes among other stuff. Check back in the coming months for more.
Next...a look inside and underneath....
