It all started with a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, fully loaded, which I INTENDED on keeping relatively stock. However, I am a member of the Motor City Club Grand Prix, so things never stayed stock long.
All of us in MCCGP challenged ourselves for one upcoming goal--win as much as possible at the 2001 Grand Prix Gathering in Kansas City. So, the pics that follow show you what I ended up with, completed in about 2 months time.
Not expecting to win anything, I walked away with:
Best Non-Ram Air GTP
Best Audio
Most Appealing
GPG Grand Champion !!!
(a complete list of awards won is found on page 4.)
Following GPG, I tore the trunk out, bought/sold some of the audio equipment, and re-finished the trunk for the next big show: the 50th Anniversary Detroit Autorama car show.
It was a very prestigious show, due primarily to the apply/invite-only nature of the show, and the fact that it was the anniversary show. After a long week, I managed to take home 2nd place in my class!!! I ended up losing to some stock Mustang!! Oh well--it was still fun. On to the next show!!
The pics that follow show the progression of the car from pre-Sept 2001 to current.
THANKS for stopping by!!!!!!
Shortly after these photos were taken, the wheels were bent badly, and they have since been replaced with 17" MAS MGR's with Nitto NT555 rubber.
