The pictures above show the car with the new Konig's on it. They are 17" Konig Imagines with 215/45/17 Sumitomo HTRZ II tires. The suspension has also been improved with H&R Sport Springs and Koni adjustable struts. The windows have also been tinted, with 20% on the rear window and rear doors and 35% on the front doors.
I have done extremely well at all the audio competitions that I have entered. In fact, the car was undefeated in its class through 2001 and 2002, at least until I got to the 2002 IASCA World Finals to defend my world title. Here are my results:
IASCA Pro Street 1-600 watt class
2001
Steel Valley Regional Champion
SISC-Perry, GA Regional Champion
SISC-Perry, GA 15th out of 25 invitational round (2nd highest Street Division car)
IASCA World Finals Champion
2002
Spring Break Nationals Champion
Steel Valley Regional (SVR) Champion
SVR Street Division Grand Champion
SVR Overall 4th place (of 32) for Sound Quality
Southeastern Summer Regional (SSR) Champion
SSR Best of Show - Street Division
SSR Overall 7th place (of 26) for Sound Quality
IASCA World Finals 2nd place (of 12) - Natan Budiono edged me out for first place (219.8 pts vs my 218.0 pts). Nate is a good friend and I am happy that if anyone were to beat me it was him.
SLAP Pro Street 1-600 watt class
2002
SLAP National Championships - 1st place
MECA Master class
2002
3 first places at Local events
MECA Finals 1st place (of 2). I beat Joe Black, the defending 2001 MECA Finals Champion and 2001 Finals Best of Show winner. The winning streak starts again...
2003 turned out to be a pretty successful campaign as well:
2003
MECA Custom+ Class
Carl Casper Champion and Best of Show
Spring Break Nationals Champion and Best of Show
Runner-up at MECA Finals
IASCA Street X 1-600
Spring Break Nationals Champion
Extreme Autofest (Chicago) - Class Champion
Steel Valley Regional III Class Champion
World Finals Class Champion
SLAP Expert Street
I was only able to compete in one SLAP event this year (same as last year) since I was the coordinator for all the SLAP events in Illinos. Unfortunately, 2 things happened at the Championships... First, I arrived at the show with a blown SQ sub. Not sure how or when it happened. Second, the Expert Street class for SLAP is an open class so I had to compete against the 601+ watt vehicles. I finished in 3rd place at the event as a result.
Of course, the best thing that happened during 2003 with the car was that I finally got a feature in a magazine. My car had a 5 page feature in the October 2003 issue of Car Audio & Electronics magazine which can be viewed online by clicking here
2004
IASCA Street X 1-600
Spring Break Nationals Champion
Steel Valley Regional IV Class Champion
IASCA World Finals (ever have one of those weekends... I did...)
SLAP Expert Street
This year I finally was able to enter some local SLAP events since I was no longer the Midwest event coordinator for SLAP. I entered 2 local events, and won my class and "Best Of Show - Sound Quality" at both of them. Other results from major events:
Steel Valley Regional IV Class Runner-up
SLAP Championships - 3rd place (out of 6)
I was the only true 1-600 watt car there. All the other entries were 601+ watts, but with SLAP's class structure there isn't a split between low and high power. One other item to note: Although I had the 3rd highst sq score in the class (129... the first two tied at 135) I had the fourth highest Street SQ score at the entire event. Talk about a tough class!
MECA Custom+ Class
Spring Break Nationals Class Champion
Steel Valley Regional IV - 4th place (out of 7)... not really sure what happened here because 2 of the three that beat me were also in the event's main "Top 40" competition on the same day and I beat them rather easily. I also should note MECA only used one judge instead of their normal three judge average at this event.
MECA Finals (ever have one of those weekends... I did...)
