1998 Black with Gold Package Lumina LTZ, 3.8 Liter V-6, automatic, tan leather interior

These two pics were snapped before the car had the exhaust or was lowered.

Alright, here's the deal:

My car is a second generation Lumina, not counting the 1.5 gen Lumina minivan. I refer to the "LTZ" because it was the most feature packed Lumina between 1998-1999. They were different from the standard or LS Lumina's because they had a Monte Carlo style front and rear clip, and the 200 Horsepower 3.8 Liter V-6 instead of the standard 160 horse 3.1 liter. In addition this car came with leather interior, power sunroof, power door locks, windows, driver's seat, trunk release and power mirrors. It has stereo controls on the steering wheel, dual zone climate controls, keyless entry, and a whole bunch of other nifty things.

Speedhut Guage Overlays at Night then Day

I have done little to the appearance as I personally think the stock styling is good. I have added a set of Pilot driving lights, a set of Hrdcore Grills, a wood grain interior kit, a custom gauge enclosure (photo to come later), some Speedhut indiglo guage overlay's, window tint and hyperwhite bulbs. I've painted several items in the engine bay, and the interior. Future appearance mods focus mostly on the interior of the car, starting with the steering wheel, recovering part of the doors and carpet.

Side shot of My LTZ before it was lowered, and a older pic from before the tint.

I don't have many performance modifications, but I do have a K&N air intake, KVR Cross drilled rotors and Bendix performance pads, and I upgraded to Bridgestone Potenza tires. I added a set of custom made strut tower bars to the front and rear. I replaced the anti-sway bar bushings with Urethane ones for better handling. I also have KYB struts in the front and the rear along with a set of Eibach springs which lower the car 1.3" and really address the handling. I also have a Carsound Highflow Catylitic Converter and Magnaflow dual exhaust. I plan to add 17" rims eventually. Down the road from there will be a fenderwell cold air intake, rockers, improved throttle body, transmission upgrades including a shift kit and LSD, and improved dogbone and engine mounts.

The CD Head Unit before I got the flush mount kit and the Music Keg

I've done some stuff with the stereo. I added a Kenwood KDC-9015 CD player to the car right after I got it. I have upgraded to a multi-channel Kenwood KAC-859 40 watts RMS x 4 + 120W x 1 Amplifier. In addition I have JBL 5 1/4" 2-ways in the door, and JBL 6x9 3-ways in the rear, with 2 12" Kicker Comp. VR's in a custom made sub enclosure. Everything was wired with Lightning Audio Cables. In addition, I recently installed a Kenwood KHD-C710 Music Keg, along with a Peripheral PESWI2 Steering Wheel interface which allows the factory audio controls in the steering wheel to operate the aftermarket head unit. I am also planning to redesign the sub enclosure in the coming months to reclaim some of the trunk space for the battery re-location and for better appearance.
