zach64ford's 1964 Ford Custom

64 GALORE

This is my 64 Ford. It is from lower Wv, where we picked it up wrecked for $1200. We have been working on it since then.
When the car was originally made it came out of the factory with a 289 motor. My dad and I got a 302 HO Mustang engine and have completely rebuilt it from the ground up including having it hot dipped and bored. We completely built it with a 2 barrel carb on top but it ran nowhere near as good as it was supposed to so fuel injection had to be added. Sorry if that pisses someone off but the 289 was beyond repair, the 302 has more power and better mileage. It also has shorty headers with duals. Another upgrade to the 64 was front disc brakes with 4 pistons per caliper and 11 1/2 inch rotors from SSBC. It has an automatic overdrive transmission instead of a 3 speed on the column. Dad and I tried for years to keep the automatic on the column but an original linkage wouldnt work.
The interior is bitchin. It came without carpet from the factory but Ford Blue galaxy carpet fit right in. The headliner is is in perfect shape and has been cleaned up. The seats have been repadded and reupholstered. Better speakers were put in the back deck but it looks completely stock. Also we had to put a cd headunit in it because someome had already cut holes for a tape player in it. As for the dash, its perfect. The trunks been rhino covered and new rubber sealing was put all over the whole car. Airshocks have also replaced the rear stock shocks with a hidden valve by the gas tank to raise and lower the rear end incase Im carrying something in the back. The car is with me at WVU and has never looked better. Check out some of my pics hope you enjoyed.

*update* I had the 64 out for a couple shows this year but now its packed away for the winter. Over the past year I have added cold air intake, bigger throttle bottle, egr plate, speed density to mass air conversion, new 2.5 inch exhaust, bbk headers, pacesetter offroad h pipe and some holley glassback mufflers.
