The candy color really shines in the sun and you can see the silver metal flake shine through the candy paint. At night, the color looks like dark cherry. The candy apple red color is
PPG Wineberry paint code #51181 (3 coats) on top of silver metal flake #33896 (3 coats). Also, clear urathane was sprayed on top of the candy (1 or more coats). You can also use a gold metal flake base instead of silver. The more candy color coats used makes the candy color darker, and the harder it is for the silver/gold metal flake to shine through the candy paint in the sun light. The only problem with painting your car this color is touch-ups are very hard to match since you are using a multi-stage paint option (silver-candy-clear coatings). No "off the shelf" candy touch-up paint will match your original paint. Painting your car this color will range between $6,500 to $10,000+ in the more active cruzin states. Many new great looking auto paints have metal flake in them already & are sprayed on the car using a single stage paint which would be much less expensive and easier to touch up. Notice the updated
"halogen" headlights -- purchased on eBay for $50/pr that plug into the original wiring harness without any modifications. What a difference they make for a brighter & safer night time cruise.
1957 Chevy Bel Air ice sculpture presented to our cruisers at the Woodward Dream Cruise on Aug 20, 2005.
Here is what this old 57 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop looked like before it was saved.
This 57 was rescued by a high school auto shop class in Columbia, South Carolina, where a local repair shop bought it, and painted it Candy Apple Red Brandywine (PPG Wineberry). They installed a Nitrous system to the 350 1976 Chevy engine and raced it at local tracks in SC. The engine ran for about a year & a half after I bought it before dying in late 2003 due to the former racing abuse. I removed the Nitrous system, and installed a completely rebuilt 383 4 bolt main Stroker engine in April 2004 and have been cruzin fine since then.
Cragar SS wheels with spinners & 10" deep dish Cragars in the rear look awesome. The largest size 15" tires (shown here) that can fit in this wheel well without any modification is...P275/60 R15. With this large tire in the rear, you have about a 3/4" to a 1" clearance with the inside edge of the fender, and may notice slight rubbing against your leaf springs, but it is minor. My rear air shocks raise the body height a little with about 125 PSI of pressure, but I do not know if they are really needed for any other clearance issues with this tire size. I reduced the front tire size from P225s to P205s to keep them from rubbing & damaging the front fender when turning.
Check out the "wind silencers" installed on the vent window. I found these on e-Bay & won them for $25. They came in their original package & are original after market parts made in the mid to late 50s. I have never seen another pair like them on any classic car. Oh, they actually work too!
Gorgeous Lakeside Mall sunsets in Michigan. What a great summer cruzin season we had in 2005 & 2006.
We award 8 or more 9X12 plaques plus 15 to 20 sponsor prizes every week. Here are a few of our award plaque examples.
This is Rachel, a lovely model who poses with many cars at local classic cruiser shows in the SE Michigan area. Go to
cruizincapturz.com and look at their other great models & car photos.
In this photo, you can see this
"SHOW BOARD" example (final version shortened a few descriptions). These really look great and can show as much info as you want about your car (keeps you from losing your voice telling the same things to every car buff's questions). If you send your high pixal digital photos of your car to
info@funtimecruzers.com, we can arrange them together in several different size show boards ranging from $90 to $180. We can fax or email you examples for your final proof selection. The finished photo is delivered glued to a fiber board for easy framing. For $30 extra you can get a good metal or plastic frame in any color with a plexiglass front to protect the photo from wind blasts and clumsy spectators. Contact
ryanasavage@yahoo.com for more information.
This 3' X 5' huge canvas photo can be "your" classic cruizer for just $120.00. Imagine your photo hanging in your garage or basement rec room. For further details & ordering, Contact

Guys..if you don't like these pics, you better check your pulse because you are probably dead.
This
"Cruzin is not a crime" window sticker was made by a cruizer who is known to wear a wide brim hat and mustash with sunglasses like the picture. He & his friends became tired of being harassed by local police in Royal Oak, Michigan. Local officers would keep cruizers from congregating & parking in public parking lots. Hey! Cruizers buy things too! What law is being broken by them? None! We have rights & we can take our our business and cars where they are appreciated.
