Kenwood Exelon Head unit & Serious Auto CD Caddy Install
The pic sucks, but I am extremely pleased with the result of the install.
Here she is in the closed position
Taking the insides apart
We worked on the stereo and the CD Caddy forever! We worked on the plastic bracing so the stereo wouldnt stick out far,in order for it to come out flush with the rest of the panel.
Here is the bracing... those that have dealt with the CD Caddy know it rarely an easy item to put in but a little work made for a very customized look, I cant stand how people put in aftermarket stereos and they stick out unevenly. The dremel work was worth it.
SOUND DEADENING INSTALL
I used B-Quite Extreme on the doors to help the sound get to my ears.
Here is the trunk inner lining.
Here is the trunk all torn apart and almost finished.

Pic of my Infinity Kappa door speakers (6 1/2 oversized) before sound deadening was put on...
AMP INSTALL
I put a MTX Thunder 342 2 channel amp in my trunk to power the door speakers. I ran the wires under the trunk carpet through the opening above where the spare should be and under the carpet where the soft top should be. They then continued their trip below the armrest and shifter turret to the stereo.
Here is the Lightning Audio Wiring Kit.
I made the enclosure with acrylic plastic, tuff but not really. The chrome edges are door protector thingys from walmart. The fire extinguisher is from OBX, but I didnt like the free advertising so I goo goned the labeling and came up with a shiney fire put'er outer.
The extinguisher is connected to a brace thank goodness.
By the way the amp never overheated.
