OK. Heres some new pictures. First, I took the floors off the pan. Then cleaned and pressure washed the pan and tranny. It doeant look great but at least its clean.
Next came the front clip. What a mess. Not only did it have the typical rust issues, it was hit on the front pass side and POORLY repaired. Nothing lined up when I got it and that made it much harder to fix. The pictures speak for themselves. The rusty/light blue parts are donor parts from my parts car. The fenders and the hood are actually quite nice. The front clip is an aftermarket piece that comes as an assembly. Its a decent piece but it was assembled a little off. I had to break loose many of the spot welds and reposition it to fit well.
I would give a front clip replacement an 8 on a 10 scale of difficulty. Mine may have been hard because of the afore mentioned crash, yours may go easier. Getting it right was tough. You must have a good hood and good fenders to get everything aligned properly.
More clip pictures to come..........

Suicide doors are cool! Great idea :) I like the pics of a restoration of Beetles. Reminds me on my own work the last 14 month. Stop by if you want!
