BadLands Trip 2
-March 23, 2002
Here are a few quick shots from another BadLands run. These will give you a better idea of the trails. All photos are by Will Southerland who rode with Dave (gold Trooper) on this, his first trip to the BadLands.
Hold your finger or a pencil parallel to the hills to get an idea of how steep they are. Pictures of me working on the engine after the mud hole are coming at some point, so stay tuned!
Another shot of the gang. Dave's gold Trooper, Rick's silver 2nd gen. Amigo, and my red 1st gen. Amigo.
Here's a shot of Rick climbing, that hill is much steeper than the picture makes it seem. Before this, a really built truck struggled up the hill and everyone at the top was telling the driver how awesome it was. Then, in typical fashion, Rick just crawls right up like its nothing.

Here's one of my hill climbs. Again, you really need to be there to realize the angle. This is the top of the hill, it wasn't too tall (probably 20 feet overall).
The hills vary quite a bit around the park. Some are taller, some are steeper, some are straight and relatively smooth, some are covered with tight turns, rocks, and ruts. The variety really makes the park interesting and helps you to hone driving skills.
Note to self: always check depth before entering a mud pit.....
