Stock HU? We dont need no stinking stock HU!

What I started with.

Stock HU pocket in dash, notice metal support and rear "wall" still intact.

jlacoy's 1997 Pontiac Sunfire
Several dozen drill holes and 3 bolts to take out the metal support later, and no more wall to obstruct my HU from going in all the way.

Just trying a rough fit of the mdf base and metal brackets I made the utilize the stock screw holes.

jlacoy's 1997 Pontiac Sunfire
Rough fit of the HU in the mdf mounting ring. Was a bit loose, but I knew a tight fit of the din cage in the plexi when I got around to doing it would take care of it.

Cutting the plexi, with a jigsaw no less. Cutting and gettign the din cage to fit perfectly took over an hour, but hey, I was just making due with what tools I had and it all worked out in the end.
