greenphantom's 1995 Ford Thunderbird

greenphantom's 1995 Ford Thunderbird

Hello everyone and thank you for your interest in"The Green Phantom". I now have pictures of the car and installation posted!!! (pages 2 & 3)

Here is a rundown of my system and pictures of the products I pulled from the web.

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P6000

Multicolor EL display, I have the DFS alarm feature enabeled and use it as a secondary alarm system. This unit puts out clean loud power. I've always been pleased with Pioneer's products and have had several units in different vehicles.

I opted for the steering wheel remote and now not only have the convenience of being able to operate all of the head unit's functions without taking my eyes off of the road, but I also have the added convenience of an attenuation button for when I need to lower the volume quickly but don't want to turn the unit off.

Main Speakers: Pioneer TS-A6815
(2 sets) 3way 6x8's

I have these mounted in the factory locations and running off of the
DEH-P6000. They are loud, clear, clean and crisp. These speakers handle from 80hz up, and sound wonderful. You can hear the mids and highs very well from across the street.

Subwoofers: 2 Cadence MW 12-8

These are part of the "Mallet" line from Cadence and I think the name fits because these subs HAMMER. They are "flat piston" subs. (They look normal from the back, but the dust cap covers the entire surface of the cone giving it a flat appearance) I have them mounted in a custom sealed enclosure from Bostwick and they are very accurate, hit hard and go low. They handle from around 85hz on down.

Sub Amplifier: Memphis PBC 400

Part of the "Power Bass Custom" line from Memphis, I am EXTREMELY pleased with this amplifier. It is rated at 400w max output, but I believe this is a conservative number because I've used amps rated to 800w max output and they haven't come close to the ground pounding I get with this amp. This isn't just "boomy" bass though, it is very clean, accurate and POWERFUL. My brother was in my car doing a soundcheck and said he could actually FEEL the air as it pushed past him.

I opted for the remote bass knob and mounted it to the dash. Now I can dial in just the right amount of bass from one song to the next and can make adjustments "on the fly" for my more sensitve passengers. This is a GREAT feature and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who has the option for one with their amp.

Security: Sidewinder 6000 ESP
This is a great security package from DEI. Mine has the Stinger doubleguard shock sensor, ghost switch, starter kill, silent arm/disarm, anti-carjacking, remote lock/unlock, remote trunk release.

I just couldn't resist the "Protected by Sidewinder" E-L badge. The badge is so bright I can easily use it to spot my car in a parking lot.

Miscellanious:
The Phantom also has a removed intake air silencer, Bosch premium plug wires, Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs, Flowmaster 40 series exhaust set-up with chrome turn-down tips, Tornado Air Management Systems tornado air intake enhancement (for increased horsepower, torque and gas mileage), Pilot racing pedals, a Uniden Stalker radar detector, Auto Ventshade Company ventshades, 20% tint on the rear window and 35% on the sides, Ford Motor Company steering wheel cover and matching floormats, Road Boy fog lights (green light beam), APC simulated H.I.D. driving lights (round with glow-in-the-dark outer circles) Pilot headlights, a green neon license plate frame and a Starr Vinyl/Motorgrafz custom designed "Superbird" logo in the middle of the rear window cut from silver vinyl.

Well that's the overview of my system and other enhancements. Be sure to check out the other pages for pictures of the car and install. Have a blessed day!
