Seat notes.
5"8", about 158#. But with 33-34" inseam and an iffy back.
I could really stretch in the MG-B, although I recall thinking the seat was a bit too flat. Occasional back issues
A little cramped in the X1-9, but the knee-splayed position worked well. Never had a back problem. Of course, by then I had wised up & moved my wallet to the front pocket.
Soon after getting the 1st '97 Miata, I added a inflatable lumbar support, the Lewis one still sold by Moss, I think. Downright painful when added to the existing foam & I returned it. I then removed the seatback center foam & replaced it with a small inflatable lumbar, labeled "Chiroflow". Sat fairly upright back then. Still needed more thigh support, so shimmed up the seat bracket about 1/2". Also moved headrest a bit forward by removing foam at back & adding in front. And added a CG-Lock that cinched me in a bit, helping the lumbar support do its job. Also added a Momo Formula wheel, eventually changing from Momo hub to the deeper Daikei , and adding a spacer (15mm, IIRC) to get it closer.
Added a set of OMP 1000 pedals, and - oddly, considering my longish legs, brought the dead pedal closer with a piece of 2x4. And bent the gas pedal to bring it a closer & left.
Also shimmed tghe handbrake bracke so the handle is over tot th right a bit.
All went well until I sold nike, & replaced with nameless.
Repeated all the above & added a Hard Dog Extreme Double, with their SFI padding. That required removing the OEM cockpit brace. Which was OK (although my head is indeed closer than I'd like to the bar), since my aging back seems to like reclining more. Which unfortunately means my shoulders are further back.
So - increased the seat tilt more, allowing my knees to bend a bit, and moving up to a 1", then 2", spacer on the Momo wheel (now a Race).
I'm comfy, for now.
