1960 Chevrolet C10

msantiago's 1960 Chevrolet C/K Pick-Up

This is my new project. It's gonna be a beast of a project. As the title indicates, it is a 1960 Chevrolet C10. It's the 2 wheel drive, 1/2 ton model.

That's a nice picture of the carb - with no air filter on it and the valve cover. It's got the 235ci Inline-6 engine. I looked up stock specs once. I think the thing put out around 120hp (at the wheels) back in 1960. I plan to fix that.

msantiago's 1960 Chevrolet C/K Pick-Up (here's a picture of somebody elses truck already restored. this isn't what mine looks like or will look like. this picture is just to show you how much room there is...or isn't in the cab.

The other thing is plan on fixing is the audio setup. These things came stock with only ONE factory speaker location. it's up in the middle of the dash. Not cool. Well i'm gonna have to fix that. i plan on finding room for four 6.5" And somewhere (not sure where yet) there will be a sub. Any ideas? there is a gas tank behind the seat (can't put a sub there) and no room under the seat (no sub there either). I need your guys's input. Where can i put the dang thing? I've never fiberglassed, but i'm willing to try it.

This is a restoration. So i'm trying to keep it fairly original. However i do want it to have a touch of modern technology/mechaics. I'll probably build a nice exhaust, put on some nice rims/tires, paint the thing for sure. redo the bed (which is wood). and then comes the interior. as you can see in the picture, the interior is shot. so i get to redo that from scratch. this will give me a little artistic/modernistic freedom. i want to put a nice stereo and a few creature comforts in the thing without destroying the antiquity of the truck. This is where old meets new. Nastalgic meets modern. i'd love to hear from you guys. what would you do? any ideas for any part of the truck...hell the whole thing has to be redone. my email is: santiago@iastate.edu

Thanks for checkin out my page.
