This is my first attempt at a real system in my car and I think it has come out pretty good. Some of the installation was professionally done here at a local shop, but I did do a lot of things myself. I have learned a lot over the past few months and I have now re-installed almost everything from scratch. I take a lot of pride in designing and building my own enclosures and amp-racks and I enjoy trying new things in the car. Here is a summary of the equipment I currently have installed.
Headunit = Kenwood Excelon KDC-X717
Amplifiers = MTX Thunder204 for mids/highs and MTX Thunder6500D for my subs. Both are mounted on a custom amp rack behind the back seat.
Front stage = Infinity Reference 605cs 6.5 inch component system with the midbass driver installed in the stock locations in doors on custom baffles. The tweeters are mounted high on the doors right above the door lock switch.
Rear stage = Pioneer " REV series TS-D690R 6x9 mounted in the rear deck.
Sub = Current setup is a Single Audiomobile 12" EVO-R in a 2.0ft^3 ported enclosure tuned to 30hz.
All wiring and accessories by Stinger, Streetwires and Street Glow.
Update 08-30-01. I deadened both of my front doors and my rear deck while installing the new speakers over this past weekend. It was a pain in the A$$ to do of course, but well worth the results. There will be more to come as soon as I heal up the scrapes and bumps from this little project:)
