candrew's 1995 Mazda Miata

Here is my 1995 Mazda Miata Turbo. It has been a wonderful car to modify for the past 5 years and is everything I could ever want in a sports car, but it is now for sale. Asking price has been reduced to $17,500.

candrew's 1995 Mazda Miata

Some of the Highlights of this car are:
-Highest Horsepower Miata in North America, and possibly the world with 472 rear-wheel horsepower, and 355 ft./lbs of torque (corrected) on BP 1.8L turbocharged/intercooled inline-four cylinder
-Sport Compact Car Magazine's Ultimate Street Car Challenge 2005 participant (featured in Dec. 2004, and Jan. 2005)
-Turbo Magazine Feature Car (photographed Oct 2004, magazine due out early 2005)

-Classic Red exterior with tan leather interior. Never wrecked. Flawless and immaculate inside and out. 85,000 miles on chassis. Garage Kept. Second owner.
-Fully streetable. Smooth idle, quiet exhaust, soft suspension, great reliability, 34.8 mpg*, 10-second street car on radial tires.

The car has gone through various stages of evolution to arrive where it is today. A couple of different turbo kits, engine specifications, and suspension and drivetrain modifications have led to finding the perfect combination of power and streetability, while retaining a semblance of reliability and all of the Miata's character and original nature.

Modifications are as follows:

The engine has less than 8,000 miles on it. Compression was tested @ 155-158 psi across all four cylinders and leakdown was measured @ #1:6%, #2:4%, #3:6%, #4:6%. Oil pressure is 30 psi @ idle fully warm, and 60 psi at redline. This engine is in excellent condition, and was fully balanced and blueprinted by Stoid Racing as part of the assembly process. It has been maintained religiously with Redline 20w-50 oil every 1000-1500 miles since break-in.

It is important to point out that the car has been driven virtually trouble-free for the past year, with many miles driven hard on the street as well as the track. It survived the Ultimate Street Car Challenge without a single part failure or glitch. To withstand such a grueling competition spread over the course of 2 days is truly a testament of the durability of this car. I put so much thought into each modification and the ripple effect it would have on the rest of the car. Many things on the car were done twice, 3, and sometimes 4 times before I was satisfied with the final product. My attention to detail is extremely high, and it shows in every square inch of this car. Almost all of the work was done by myself, with the help and knowledge of many others. The tuning was done by Ben Strader of EFI101.com, and Tony Palo of Norwood Autocraft. The tune is perfect, and has proven reliable. The shortblock was done by Stoid Racing, with the final assembly done by myself and it too ahs proven itself to be reliable. The car has taken over $35,000 worth of parts, not including any labor (except paint/body) and over 2 years to perfect. No expense was spared, and nothing was half-done. For a car that can be driven on a sunny day, with a smooth and quiet exhaust note, classic looks, over 450 rwhp, 2300 lbs, rear-wheel drive, drop-top, excellent fuel economy, over 1-g and 10-second 1/4 mile potential on street tires, magazine feature quality, flawless condition, low mileage, and reliable...it cannot be beat. To build a Miata, or just about any car to perform on this level would cost nearly doulble what I am asking. What other car can you buy for under $20 grand that would be comparable?
