My name is Gary and this is my 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. Everyone says commuter car, but I say toy! So far, we have lowered it 2 inches with intrax springs, put BSA 17's on it with 205 40R17 all the way around. To help out with the added weight, I also added an AEM cold air intake, with a dryflow air filter. Out back is an American Racing can, with a 3 inch tip.
Closing in...
Finally, the work is almost complete! The interior is almost completely done. The signal starts off with an Alpine 9856 deck. A db platinum 6.5" component set graces the doors and A pillars, with the crossovers flushed into the sides of the dash. Replacing the rear seats, is a 6 cubic foot vented box, that also includes the amp rack. A db drive PA475 4 channel amp sends signal to the front stage with each component in the set bridged to two channels of the amplifier, while a PD1200.1 drives the two PL 15s in the back. To further refine the mids and highs, a kicker 31 band 1/3 octave eq is used. Also, a phoenix gold bass cube is employed to send signal to the subwoofers. All the wiring is DB link 4 gauge, and the battery is a stinger gel. A secondary battery was added to the system, two bridged 1 farad caps, and an isolator under the hood. System metered at at Import Faceoff competition, and took second in SB3 with a 145.2 Db! That will change soon though, as we are in the process of a complete port redesign.
In the works
Scuff plates that are stainless steel with the AVEO logo in the center lit by blue neon! Imported from Singapore, waiting to be installed. Finishing little details, and debating whether to put in a screen and DVD player to play a slideshow of the vehicle build at shows. Also, vinyls cut for manufacturers props, and molding in fender flares from a Volkswagen GTI, and repainting it. Anyway, not bad for a daily driver, don't cha think? Enough rambling, enjoy the pics, and stay tuned for a lot more.
Now for something completely different....
People who have been viewing this page probably have been wondering why it has not been updated in so long..... Well, 2009 has been a rebuilding year for my Aveo, and it has pretty much been torn completely down inside and out. What you see in these pics are far from what it has turned into now. I would say that I would give everyone a taste and post pics of the new build, but I think it would be better to wait and completely revamp this page when it hits the streets. Now, the mods have gotten out of hand and the Aveo has gone from daily driver to infrequent weekend enjoyment. Plus, on top of the redesign of the Aveo, I have also aquired a 2008 Smart ForTwo that has taken over the daily driver role, and of course, it too is customized, which is posted in another area of this site. Stay tuned though, as the Aveo is set to make an impression on the show circuit next year, as well as on this site! Right now, its back to working on her, and on the Smart!!! Total update to come real soon!!!
