madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata ZOOM ENGINEERING Backup light added, this mounts in the right exhaust exit, install was very easy, and comes with a mounting bracket and all hardware needed for clean install. I go this from Rod in Japan, his website is www.TetsuyaGarage.com he is helping me get the center exit exhuast too. It will be either PitCrew Racing, ZOOM, or St.May Shotgun.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata CENTER EXIT EXHAUST Thanks to Rod once again for getting this for me. www.TetsuyaGarage.com Now you can see why I placed that backup light in the old exhaust hole. More pictures of my Center Exit Shot Gun Exhaust on page 14. Now back to more lighting tricks.

This is a close up of my KG Works Type2B Turn Signal Intake (TSI), these allow ALOT more cooling air into the engine bay vs. the standard versions out there. Not to mention these have a really classy look to them for those into the whole Retro theme like me. I got these from www.RSpeed.net thanks Joe!!

madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataHere are the original TSI's produced in Japan by ZEST, they are really sweet looking, i will be ordering these once i sell my custom CATZ Parking Lights. EDIT: Ended up not using these after all, i like my KG Works much better. :)

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata The BrainStorm Performance Low Profile Headlight Convertion kit has arrived, time to get to work!!

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata Here is a good shot of the BSP Low Pros, VS. the Stock AirBrakes, err.. headlights. The assembly was not that hard at all, and pretty basic, once you have the lights mounted to the headlight bucket you can figure out the rest just by looking at the car.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataHere is a shot of the brainstorm lights, also you can see my CATZ driving lights mounted inside the parking light area.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata

Here is a nice shot of the Brainstorm lights installed and working great on my car. These lights have a very classic look to them, and look like they came from the factory.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata JDM Side Winkers, drill them fenders!!! :)

madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataHere is the Japanese Side Winkers installed, looks great, i just tapped into the factory turn signals for the hot wire. I got the placement location measurements from my friend in Japan so that it is the perfect location.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataHere is a night shot with the Brainstorm Headlights, and the newly installed JDM Amber Side Winkers. These are VERY bright too! Ill post more pics later.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataWow, check these out, i have never seen these, they are Crystal Clear Turning Lens, made right here in the USA. I found them on a Japanese Auction house (of all places!?!). I think they are discontinued now, too bad, they are really nice!!! The factory ones have the vertical lines running through them, which kills some of the lighting output. I must give a Special THANK YOU to my friend MAKOTO in Japan for getting these for me!!!

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata
Here is another picture of them, ill be doing something really crazy with these later, so stay "Tuned" and have fun modding your cars!

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata Here is a shot at night (sorry this camera sucks) i have tapped out the blank side with a 3/4" Hole Saw and installed some #194 Amber Lights & Sockets from the local auto parts store, and used some T-Taps to splice into the running lights. (you can do this mod yourself for about $25.00 in parts)

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata CATZ/FET Hyperwhite Driving Lights PURE JDM Lighting, these are gonna light up the night for sure 85watts!!! Get some from http://www.fet-japan.co.jp

madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataOkay here ya go!! I put those Crystal Clear Lens to good use. I had tryed this mod on my last two Miatas, but the lighting output was never that good as the stock lens is ribbed and distorts the lighting effect. Notice the CATZ Driving Lights tucked away inside the lens.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata Here are the CATZ driving Lights, they are now fully installed and working great!! I did have a overheating issue with the 85W H3 SuperWhites, the bulbs blew up!! :O However after installing a lower wattage 55W H3 bulb they are running much cooler, and look just as nice.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata

SOLD Here is the full custom lighting kit i made, i just removed them from the car today as im gonna try another type of mod now. (SOLD) Im selling this full kit, it comes with the CATZ Driving lights, all wiring, instructions, and the Crystal Clear Parking Lens that i customized to fit the CATZ, and also modified to fit some JDM Twi-Lights running lights. As a bonus im including the Hub Boss Cover from my Miata as i have modified it as well to install the on/off switch for the lights. This is a sweet setup, and i dont know anyone else that has dont this quite like me. Im selling this as i need some money for my next upgrade projects.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataSOLD HAYASHI BODYSHOP Rear Tail Lights, i ordered these from KG Works in Japan back in 1999, i think the lights came from a Nissan Skyline R32?? I cannot remember, anyhow, i ended up selling them on Ebay, to get the new Garage Vary rear lights panel!! The Hayashi are no longer in full production, and they are hard to find on the even on the used market in Japan.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata

UPDATE: (16-NOV-2006 )Barchetta is making the Body Shop Hayashi Rear tail light sets under license from Hayashi, but limited to only 25 sets per year!! \(^_^)/
madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataHere is a shot of the reverse lamp you can mount under the rear bumper.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata Mazda TailLights(from Japan), very cool looking, these come with the Garage Vary Rear Tail Light Conversion Kit. I have since upgraded the Blubs to LED type so they are MUCH brighter and more visible at night.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda MiataHere is the LED bulbs i used, these are 100% brighter than the stock bulbs that come with the kit. Considering the Tailghts need to be seen so some jackhole donest rearend my fancy new bumper, i figured it was a worthwhile upgrade.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata

Here is a picture of the Stock Miata rear lights Vs. the Garage Vary TailLight Conversion. Very trick, and the lights are JDM Mazda Parts so it plugs right in!!! I love the look, its more truer to the Roadster form. Dont you think??

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata Here is a close up of the Garage Vary Tail Lights. A Special thanks goes to Joe Hochstetler for painting this piece for me!!!

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata Here is a close up of the Drivers side rear.

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata And here is the Passenger rear, notice the "NEW" JDM Badge i got from a 2004 Turbo MX5 Roadster (Japan) hehehe (All i need now is the FM2 turbo system! (COMING SOON)

madmx5's 1996 Mazda Miata Here is a close up picture of the rear badge. Very nice looking, it is Carbon Fiber with "TURBO" in Red, and "Roadster" in White. This is the JDM version of the Mazdaspeed Miata that is sold here in the US, just called the "Roadster TURBO" in Japan. This picture sucks cause you cant see the Carbon Fiber Looking weave, ill take some more detailed pics later.

I will be adding some more pictures of these GV lights at night, so that you can see them lit up in the dark. So check back soon!!
