Here are some pics of before and after rammating of my g/f's 98 accord 2 door.

before the matting, remove all plastic covers, and wipe down the metal for maximum stickiness.
It is important to also mat the outer layer of the door, where you have to reach behind and add some rammat. This helps reduce the outer panel from vibrating.
Here is what the door looks like after I coverd most of the large holes and gaps. By sealing these gaps, you create a good infinite baffle type enclosure for your mids. This will help bass extention and efficiency.
I glued some fiberglass padding right behind the woofer mount to help against standing waves? not sure if it really does anything, but I thought what da hell, might as well try it.
Here I installed some Scanspeak revalator 18w8531's (soon to be 18w4531's) in her doors...they are alil larger than most 6.5" mids, but luckily, they fit without cuttin the doors. The back side does touch the glass even with a 3/4" mdf, so I suggest you take precaution. I'm using some foam on the back of the magnet to prevent the metal from shattering the glass.
Here is the back side to her flush tweeter mounts with some duct tape to hold down the wires.
Currently in her car, I am using dual aluminum cone Focal 10's which I got off ebay. These are one of the most musical subs I have encountered. I ported them and tuned them to 33hz to get a bit more low end. Their upper bass blends in seemlessly with the front stage.
Here are her 2 amps, a Trutechnology C1 and T2.100. Both amps are rated for 100x2. The C1 is a very musical amp, with no processing at all, no xover, no eq, just pure music. Also shown is the Tru F1 3-way crossover...which I'm currently using to highpass the front stage at 60hz. The sub is lowpassed using the xover on the T2.100. I am also using an Audio Control Matrix line driver to boost the preout voltage. A line driver can help out any system... I highly recommend them.
Here is a closeup of the C1.
Another shot of the c1 with the fused distrobution.
Close up of the crossover and T2.100 mounted on the back of the sub box.
The led's on the amps give a very cool blue tint.
More cool blue...
Her front stage consists of an LPG 25nfa fabric soft dome tweeter, and a Scanspeak 18w8531 mid in stock locations. The sound is very very open and very detailed.
Here is her right side. My p9 is in there as a stand alone deck while her deck (alpine 7878) is out on repair
I opted to use my own passives, using premium parts. Solen fastcaps, goertz inductors for the tweeters, and solen inductors for the midbass. what you don't see in her car is the notch filter that is also used in her system to help deal with the woofer's impedance rise, and any cone break up above 3500hz.
xovers all nice and packed ready to be installed.
Here is one of the xovers mounted in her right door. I'm using a piece of cable to strap it down, and will also throw some duct tape on later to help prevent any movement.
The grounding points for the 2 amps.
The wiring under her rear seat taped and secured.
All wiring coming through the firewall grommeted.
