Here are some pics to my 1991 Camry.I am proud to say I did did all the install my self. First of the headunit is a Pioneer Premier Dex-P9 and a Dex-P9 handles the signal processing. Its very versatile, comes with dual independent 31 band Eq's, 4way active crossovers with selectable slopes and frequencies, along with phase control, and 6 24bit D/A's and a 1bit D/A for the sub. My tweeters are the Rainbow Platinum silk domes midbass/midrange are the Excel 21w002ex. I used to have Focal Utopia 8w5451s and Illusion ND8's but changed to Excels for better midrange, but I lost a bit of midbass compared to the Illusions. For amps, I chose Arc Audio amps because they provided me with the smoothest and most powerful sound I have used. I've owned top name amps such as Mcintosh 440m and 222, Genesis Dual Mono, PPI PC2300, Xtant 4180c, and others, and I settled with Arc. For more information, visit ArcAudioI am running 2 4150cxl's which give me 8 channels of pure clean 85 watts for my 3 way setup and 2 rears. All channels will be actively amped and crossed over. For the subs, I am using a 2500cxl, which is rated at 270x2 or 1100x1 @ 4ohms. This amp has tons of power and control. Many amps have a lot of power, but these Arcs have a very high dampening factor and exhibits awesome woofer control. This is my Pioneer p9 headunit and processor. Its got all the bells and whistles I need, all conveniently packed into that small box. At nite the deck has a nice white glow on the knobs and a nice blue display. Sweeet as candy. Another shot, unlike the other pioneer decks, this doesn't have anything fancy, no screen savers, just straight out SQ. Here are my current woofers in my left kick, they are seas 21ex002 8" midbass units. I am using them as part of my 2 way set using the Rainbow Platinum tweeters and these. The seas have much more midrange detail and is more open sounding than the nd8's, but I lost some midbass output around 60hz compared to the nd8's. And here is my right side of the seas kicks. here's a shot of my old cdx-c90, but my shifter is in the way hehe. Also those are my old Focal utopia 8" midbasses. Also, here's a shot of my previous left kick using the 8" Illusions. These babies have such clean articulate midbass, and they get damn loud. I have them xover at 65hz. And here's the right kick. For the top end, I am using a pair of Rainbow Platinum Tweeters. Theses tweeters are pretty costly but they are one of the best car tweeters I've ever heard yet. It has great off axis response and even better on axis response. As you can see, I have it mounted in the door location where it is off axis. It still gives me great response and has a very smooth presentation but with superb detail. And this is where I mounted them. I had to use some foam underpad to cover a bit of a gap because the back end of the tweeter was touching my door and stuck out a bit. These tweeters are deep, about 1.5" at least. Here's my amp rack before putting it in and before the color change. I don't have my 2nd 4150cxl in at that time. Currently, this is how the rear of my amp rack looks. It has the Pioneer Deq-P9 processor in the rear, with the digital connection from the H/U in the front. My 2nd 4150cxl is bridged and supplies over 320 watts rms to each of my ND8's. I also have 0/1 guage powerwire coming in from the battery. This is my ground, I chose a part of my chasis near my rear seats, and sanded it down to bare metal. I split up the 0guage ground into 3sections to get more surface area for contact. Here's my old setup in the back side with the wiring. It did have 4 guage from the battery. I'm also using 0/1 gauge ground. The hole in the back is from the 2500cxl, this lil fan is temperature regulated and can acutally move a lot of air to keep the amp cool. Well I got my car back and I put in the 2nd 4150cxl, this powers my midbass in the kicks it did power my rears, but I decided to ditch them and feed my front midbass 320 watts each. And here is my old PPI 3 way active crossover in the rear. A good xover, but you can't beat P9's awesome digital crossover unit. The front of the amp rack looks like this. The larger amp on the back side is the 2500cxl and the one in the front is the 4150. The cap is a 1.5F cap. With the addition of the 3rd amp, I might have to get a bigger cap. I recently changed my amp's coloring to the new Black Chrome and they sure look sweet. Here's a shot of my whole rear with the idmax in and the Rammated trunk. Another shot of my Idmax mounted inverted.
