BACKGROUND
Got this Turbo Brick last Oct, clocked about 130,000km at that time. It was my dream car for all time, the car i want since i first seen it on 1994' BTTC (that was 11 years ago!!)i never dreamt of owning a Ferrari, Porsche whatsoever, you'll go crazy dreaming to own cars like these. So, T5 wagon is the way to go!!

The "GT" emblem was sourced from my prev. Skyline HCR32 RB20DET.
That R32 performed 1/4 mile at 12.2sec, tops at 265kmh, 1.4kgf boost, 380bhp. This brick has 14.4sec, 256kmh, 0.8kgf and 245bhp. Not bad for a 2 tonne car.

The original "VOLVO" & "850 T-5" logo were faded, tried to get it from the scrap yard, but they asked for MYR100 each (USD26) which i think too much for a thing that i dont really need.

Stock rubbers were YOKOHAMA 205/50R16 AES100, which was superb, but due to comfort, i changed to PIRELLI 215/55R16 P6000. Now my car looks like a dump truck on the wheels, but i dont care. It still fast anyway.

The first problem i had was the air-cond unit, which has a built-in heater. It takes elephant years to cool the space inside... Still wondering why they import cars like this into a country with 365 days of sunny weather....
others are only minors, like dried & broken plastic parts..worn off rubber/ dampers.

BUILDING THE AUDIO SYSTEM
I started off with the wiring. Never thought that this brick has this much of wires running through all over the place. i removed the built-in mobile phone cables, which weighs about 2-3kilos, the power antenna unit and so.

Pulled 4AWG directly from the batt, with returning ground 4AWG for grounding straight to the trunk area.

The 4AWG pass tru a 110A breaker with volt display and goes to a distribution block for 4 amps. Between the breaker &the block i placed ground summing block (DIY-sourced from some machine pulleys) and covered with 1/4" tinted acrylic board.

HU is Nakamichi MB100, with outboard 24bit D/A converter. I was impressed with MB75, that was why i upgraded to MB100. The sound is clean and sharp, but it was not good, at least not as good as what i expected it to perform.

I am now saving money to get a

Pioneer DE-P01 II.

I chose Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 for the fronts, Reference 605cs for rear and Kappa Perfect 10.1 for the subs. As for the amps, i chose Precision Power PCX2125 for the mids (6.1), PC225 for the tweeters (1.1), PCX250 for rear (605cs) and PCX2200 for the subs (10.1).
Because the HU only supplies front & rear (total 4ch), so i have to divide front with AudioControl 2XS, crossed at 3500Hz for tweets and mids lowest freq to be 60Hz.
Rear will cover 0Hz - 500Hz and subs only play 80Hz and below.
All was fine and good until one day i screwed up with the PCX2125 and the 6.1's voice coil blew. (Will talk about that much later)
