    Still Under Construction

IDiedForYou's 1968 Mercury Cougar This right here is a 1968 Mercury Cougar 289 2 barrel setup bored 40 over, C4 transmission and a Ford 9 inch rear, she is pretty much stock minus the paint job and Flowmaster 40's and the bored block, also the solid state sequential taillight box (bottom of page)

ATTENTION ALL CLASSIC FORD/LINCOLN/MERCURY OWNERS:

If you want work done on your classic Ford vehicle then here is some advice do not I repeat DO NOT take it to a FORD/LINCOLN/MERCURY dealership...I've been to three different FORD/LINCOLN/MERCURY dealerships and I've gotten the shaft and hassle by all three in three different states at three different times...they do not like to work on classic iron and will give you a hassle, run around and do half ass work but they will do work mind you...not good work though...here is an example...replace radiator hoses, clean out radiator and refill radiator... simple task right? WRONG... I pay them money to work on my car...I could very well do it myself but I rather not get oil or anti freeze on my driveway and garage floor (they eat away concrete and blacktop) so I pay others such as a dealership to do it. EXPECTING quality work, but with the way now a days are quality isn't there...so over all I had to do it...checked the radiator to see if it had a hole in it somewhere then I checked the hoses to see if they actually replaced them...then checked the clamps...hardest to easiest...and wouldn't you know...they didn't tighten the clamps...even AFTER I brought it back...I also had a lot more work done there..fixing a brake line...now this isn't rocket science, specially on older cars... and some other stuff I had done I gave them 2000 bucks and got 800 bucks worth of work in my eyes...I also had them order a NOS sequential box which they didn't they left the old one in...This is just a warning to owners of classic Ford's.

The Exterior : Has been repainted also has few dings and the paint job that was put on it was just decent at best, love the box tips for the exhaust

Project and Parts Corner...

This is part of the project I am working on with the Cougar...after so many years of mistreatment by previous owners I am finally getting to getting primer in under the back valance and inner rear quarter panels, also directly in the trunk.

Solid State turn signal/emergancy flasher replacement

From left to right: new battery holder (black thing and the things in the white), new thermostat housing, new soild state sequential box (recommended for older cougar owners without still running relays and motors)

The stuff I want for the car is the original stock rims, magnaflow exhaust (they sound really good from what I've heard), 4 barrel carb intake setup, Pioneer speakers all the way around the car and a reproduction radio...

As of recently I went I ordered a lot of things out of West Coast Classic Cougars www.classic-cougar.com...its the place to go if you need parts...they deal with nothing but Cougar's  and they know exactly what they're talking about all the time...

Update: I've almost finished with the car, replacing two wires on the harness and I should be good to go, might need tires but hey whatever works right?
