***R.I.P. ~ THIS PAGE WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATED***

***CURRENT PICS ON PAGE 3. BE SURE TO RATE MY CAR! THANKS!***

Hey welcome to my page for my 1995 Volkswagen Passat GLX VR6 sedan. I am 18 and this is my first car, which I got when I was 17. I purchased it in May of 2005, with just 112000 miles. I plan to have this car for many more years and make many modifications to it.

UPDATE - 8/20/05
The transmission is having some major issues. 2nd gear is almost completely gone. Auxillary water pump went a week ago. LF wheel bearing is shot. RF camber is way off. Was lightly rear-ended...crease in bumper and cracked paint.

This all is very disappointing. The entire coolant system drained out when the pump went and the car basically overheated. The pump has been fixed now, but all the other problems have not. This is probably going to result in me selling the car unfortunately. :(

UPDATE - 11/4/05
Current mileage: 115000
Transmission still has not been fixed. However, I have received an estimate. Approximately $1000

About a month ago, the car died pulling into the school parking lot. Had to have it towed, and it turned out just to be the battery. But thats kind of suspicious.

UPDATE - 11/21/05
Well, a few weeks ago the transmission went completely. Since then, it has been fixed. Cost a fortune...$2800. Car is in good shape now. It just has some minor electrical issues still.

UPDATE - 1/16/06
Current Mileage: 116876
Just installed the subs today. Took forever and was a major pain...but it was sure worth it. The entire stereo is about 680 RMS, and 1760 peak. All I need now is new dash speakers (again) and the stereo is completely done.

UPDATE - 1/23/06
A few days ago I encounted major problems. I was driving, and first the battery light came on, then I notice the power steering was gone. I pulled over only to notice steam coming from under the hood and the temperature read 240 degrees. Had it towed to a local mechanic. Turns out the water pump seized, which snapped the serpentine belt and cracked the tension pulley.

UPDATE - 3/8/06
Just had a new exhaust system installed today. 2.5 inch piping from the cat all the way back. Removed the central "suitcase" muffler completely. Installed a Magnaflow muffler in the rear. It sounds awesome, and a performance improvement is definitely noticable.

UPDATE - 7/26/06
It's been a while. Car was shown at Hot Import Nights in Atlantic City in May. But since then it has not been too good. Timing is all screwed up. It jumped due to broken guides/tensioners. However, at this current moment, it actually has jumped back to normal so it is running good right now. It will be a very extensive and costly repair though, and I am still undecided on what I will be doing about it.

UPDATE - 10/15/06
Current Mileage: 122000
Unfortunately, this is not a good update. At the end of August, the car would not start. I figured the chain jumped all the way off, since it had jumped back to a bad position since the last update. Had it towed to the VW dealer and they looked at it. Turned out that nothing was wrong with my timing to begin with...my mechanic was wrong. It was a knock sensor that failed, and now I had a blown motor. $3100 for a "new" motor with 71k miles. The car sat on their lot up until a week ago waiting for me to decide what to do. Sadly, the Passat has been replaced. I cannot justify that much more money being dumped into it. And in reality, it would be more than that because it needs brakes, airbag repair, and has a bunch of electrical issues. I am going to remove all of my aftermarket parts and return the car to its original state and try to sell it as is. The tranny is still less than a year old and the rest of the car is in near perfect condition so I should get something.

Yea the exhaust i got is the 252.417. It sounds real good. quiet though due to having two mufflers. been thinkin about gettin rid of the first muffler to make it sound a little louder like my friend's corrado. the drop i got is the FK 60/40 damper kit. DO NOT GET THE 35/40!!!!!! you will be rubbing on every turn and bump!! i highly recommend coilovers if you have the money. i got 17" rims with kumho tires...all my info is on the page. get rid of your APC filter and get a K&N...much better material

ya i have aim its VW Dub VR6. im on pretty much every night. i'm central time. forgot what time zone ur in. lol. i wanna know a little more about the cone filter u put in. i really want my engine to make some mean noise when i rev it up. u know just so i can put some scare into my friends that drive honda civic's. i was thinking about a new ehauhst but bc of my problems with the car its not really worth it. i did find a really nice pair of euro smoke taillight lenses on ebay for $100 plus shipping. they look hella good. i think i may ask for them for christmas. i did recently install sum new purple xenon bulbs in my headlights. although they look good i really added them for improved vision at night. i do a lot of night driving with my friends and bc i live in a kinda rural area there are a lot of deer and windy roads. so yeah that kinda says it all. apart from my taillights and new air filter, there is nothing more i really want to do to this car. maybe add a 12" infiniti sub in the trunk. im on quite a small budget though and really rely on a lot of financial help from my dad on this car. still i would like to talk to u about ur cone filter. wondering if u removed the original air box urself. i didn't realize urs was an automatic. i really love manual. on this model i believe that the manual has considerably better pickup. the tires are really big on the bbs rims. this gives it really good handling. i got mine sandblasted and re-coated thats the reason the finish is so clean. ur right tho a lot of $$ has been spent on this car. makes me kinda want sumthing japaneese now but not really if u know what i mean. ur lexus will probably never have any problems. lexus really knows how to buld a good car. ok well im at school just now passing sum time so ttyl
