Me and my C5
Like so many others, I, too, fell in love with the Corvette as a teenager, bitten hard after driving a friends 1965 4 speed convertible down the beach highway in Ft. Myers, Florida in 1967. My first Corvette was a red 1984 coupe, which I drove with pride and devotion for 2 years, even though it spent more time in the repair shop than on the road!
I am truly a fan of all things Corvette and now own 3. In addition to my '98 C5 I also have a 1964 Navy Convertible with white leather interior and top, 327 4 speed, and a 1968 454 Bright Blue convertible 3 speed automatic, which I worked on and restored myself with some help from my Dad and brother.
Some have commented that my Corvette hobby seems an unusual one for a woman to enjoy. That may be true, but Id be willing to bet there are just as many women as men who would agree that our beloved Corvettes, any year or color, can power you down the road like nothing else, hugging every turn, and looking fabulous doing it!
