This is my toy. It's almost complete and will make its debut at Canada's "Audiothunder" IASCA competition in March of 2001. I'm not sure what it's going to hit yet but we'll be testing it in about a week. I'll let you all know after Audiothunder. Materials used in the construction include3-100 lb. bags of concrete,
2-4x8 sheets of 3/4" MDF, 1-5x5 sheet of 1 1/2"MDF,
24 tubes of urethane, 1-4x8 sheet of 1" plexiglass,
about 150 feet of 1 1/4" steel angle iron,
9-1 quart cans of expanding foam,
a gallon of epoxy coat paint for the interior,
I've lost count of how much body filler and fiberglass and countless hours of labour to make my dream come true.
The system is run off a second alternator that powers the amps and batteries and the regular alternator powers the vehicle and pod. The head unit is a Kenwood PS-909 that runs into an Audiocontrol MATRIX line driver into a Phoenix Gold BASS CUBE into a Kicker XS50 amplifier. All this powers four Phoenix Gold 15" XS series drivers. Special thanks go out to my son Scott (shown in photo working on driver's door) and my wife Kim for their help and patience and to all the Progressive Collective (our competition team)for their help and support, especially
Chris Dumetz (master welder), Pete Hayes (installer extraordinaire), Craig Roberts, Jason Wilson, Steve Hunt (MDF guy), Scott Hilton, Dave Curley, Damian Brandt (steering wheel guy), Steve Hunter, Tim Beckett (alternator guy) and I hope I didn't miss anybody.
