~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Upgrades and Future Modifications~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Most recent upgrades are aluminum radiator, after market pulleys and sound system.
7/25/06 * Crank and bearings are back in. I think they have to rotate it and get it timed...not sure really, b/c I have stayed out of it for the most part :-P Anyway, they will finish it up in the beginning of August as schedules allow. Que sera, sera, ehh?
6/24/06 * Lost oil pressure due to the pressure release valve in the oil pump going on the fritz--more or less...Will entail replacement of all bearings and possibly the crank. Thankfully, not a complete rebuild.
3/15/06 *Dennis has just replaced my 34 year old brake lines with new stainless brake lines from end to end, braided hose at the front and back wheels, along with a line lock. He also switched out my trans cooler for a new one and put in braided hose in place of the stainless lines as we found a nice little hole in it that had sprayed fluid all over the headers. We knew we had a leak at the pan, but the hole in the lines was a total surprise, especially considering that they are two months old.
3/2/06 *Safety loop is next on the list of mechanical / saftey upgrades.
*Aluminum cover for the rear
*Body work: one fender, two full quarters, trunk floor pans, and all trim, mirrors, door handles and badges. Of course the paint job--and naturally, she will be the exact same color--no question.
*Get the complete dash assembly to complete the SS clone interior
*Cobalt series gauges to go with the above mentioned!
* I think I could use some new seatbelts--don't you? They are afterall, over thirty years old. I wonder how really useful they are.
*Complete working cowl assembly
*Wheels and Tires--GREAT BIG ONES
*Some serious braking power--little more than single piston discs. Baer or Wilwoods sound good to me
*Nice sound system. My exhaust is no longer an issue as far as being able to talk at normal levels or listening to music, so it's wayyyy down on the list. It's amazing what exhaust all the way out instead of dumping under the front seats will do for sound levels.
*Next engine....yes, I am already thinking about it before this new one is in. Dart "Big M" block and all the meanies to go with it. Possibly EFI...who knows? Take that--and you know who I mean ;-)
