This is tecknecly my second install but I consider it my first. As you already now I have a 89 cavalier. I filled with all my toys hehehe. Plz rate my system and coment in my guest book. This is my system.
head unit: Pioneer DEH-1100
Mid and High range speakers: the rear are JBL GTO0920 6x9s and the front are stock
SUBS: I've got 2 KFC-W2502s in a extremebass enclosure
Amp: I got a KAC-728S 600watt amp running the two 10s
and an optimus 110 watt amp runing the rear 9x6's
I've also got a koiller EQ under the dash but I haven't seen one on line and I have looked
All my amp's power cable and speaker wire is Phoenix Gold
I had a slight problem when I installed my new amp (the 600 watt) my old one used 16 gauge power cable and my amp MELTED the wire. So I invested in a phoenix gold kit with 8 gauge wire. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE. Now that my amp is not thursting for power the bass really hits hard.
I was thinking of entering a few compatitions this year so I talked and showed my car to the guy in town that runs the comps and he said I'm making 120 to 130 spl. not the loudest but can definatly cause perminant ear damage. I also have a new goal and thats to get to 160 spl because at that level BUGS EXPLODE
