First of all, I want to say thanks and give props to Clyde W, Susan T, Kari H, David T, Beverly W, Wayne & Joan T, Art K, Jeremy G, Scott R, Troy R, Adam S, Randy W, Keri O, and all of the other guys in the Grounded Devotion Circle who care about this kind of thing!
I have done a lot of stuff to this car, and this will not do it justice, not because it is the best car on this website (cause I know it isn't), but because my friends and I know how much effort we have put into this thing over the years, and it is worth a lot more to us than you would think! I started building car stereo systems for people before I even had my license. I had dreamed of installing a computer system into a car for a long time, and well, I finally set my butt down and did something about it.. But first, a little history lesson on the PimpRide...
This car originally started out as all cars do (without any mods). I quickly put an end to that. I installed these phat Niche rims and Nitto NT455 tires to bring my ride to "pimped out" status. I know, I know.. The picture is fuzzy. Well, when you spend all the money on rims and tires that I did, you would probably not have enough leftover for a good digital camera. Mine only does 640x480 tops!
Then, I added chrome fender trim that is made for a 1988 GRAND AM (little tip here) and that really accented the rims. The trim pieces cost me about $100.00 for the whole set, but as you can see, it was worth the extra money for the effect it gives the car.
I also lowered my car about 1.5 inches. I did it for almost nothing and learned almost everything there is to know about MacPhereson Struts. A good friend of mine cut the springs (sounds bad) but then formed the "cut" part into the original shape that the top of the spring was in originally. Then, he oil dipped them while they were glowing hot to give them strength.
