I got it as a rolling chassis. It is a 85 GT converted over to 87 to 93 GT bodystyle. Several components were swapped over from the 88 GT to the 85 GT, mainly the K-Member, Rearend, Fuel System, Wiring Harness, and Interior. The fuel system consists of a Stock Sumped Tank with a 300 g.p.h. Bosch Pump, -8 Feed to a Aeromotive Regulator, and -6 Feeds to the Downs Ford Fuel Rails, and a -6 Return. The interior of the car is out of the 88 GT, wiring harness out of the 88 GT, AutoMeter Monster Tach, AutoMeter Oil, Fuel, and Boost Pressure Gauges(the boost gauge is for later on). Here are a few more pics of this car. Now on to some more, here are some pics and specs on the 88 that died a horrible death. While out doing some testing with some new struts I installed, I had a rod break at about 6500 rpm in 4th gear. The engine locked up causing me to lose control of the car and run off the road over a concrete culvert, which tore up pretty much everything underneath the car. Luckily I didn't flip! I bought this car in October of 2000 for 12,500 bucks. The guy I bought it from had just finished building it, and had around 28,000 in it and needed some cash fast, so I jumped on it. Here are some pics and specs on that car, and also whats left of it. This is how he got the car before building it. It was a insurance total. This is how it looked in October of 2000 when I bought it.302 2 Bolt Main bored .030 over, Stock Crank(Heat Treated and Balanced), Stock Rods(Shot Peened and Balanced), Trick Flow Forged Pistons(Final Compression Ratio 9.44:1), SVO Stud Girdle, All ARP Fastners,Block Also has been O-Ringed, Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads with Stage 3 Porting by Total Engine AirFlow, Ford Motorsport 1.6 Roller Rockers,Trick Flow Pushrods, Ford Motorsport F-303 Cam, Stock Roller Lifters, Ford Motorsport GT-40 Lower Intake Ported by Total Engine AirFlow, Cartech Upper Intake Ported by Total Engine AirFlow, Downs Ford Fuel Rails, Siemans Decca 55lb per hr Injectors, BBK 75mm Throttle Body, Pro-M 85mm Mass Air Meter, Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator, Bosch 300 G.P.H. Also note the sticker to piss off you nitrous guys. And finally, here is what is left of the 88 GT Heres the latest purchase of Ghetto Engineering. It's a 86 GT I got for 800 bucks. It runs and drives fine, but the car was wrecked in the front pretty hard at one time. I'm going to start by tearing off the front end and replacing everything from the strut towers forward. Look for more on this car in the future.
