Well, i thought i would update again and post the last 4 pictures i took of the car the day it was sold. the only differences in these pictures is you can see the TRD shifter and the redone exhaust. That was a sad day. I'm still sad about losing the car. But ill get over it eventually. i just cant seem to find something new. i need help! anyways, here are the pictures.

Well...that's it everyone. It's official. My car is sold. It is gone for good. I sold it last friday. Now i need to find a new car...and fairly quickly. I will keep this page up at least until i get my new car, or if anyone wants me to keep it up i will. But if not, i guess there is no use in keeping a page for a car i no longer own. However, feel free to still ask me any questions you have about an MR2 or in general. Any suggestions on a car to buy or anybody have anything or know of anything nice for sale? I'm looking for something fast, but not already modified. I'll stick with japanese cars too. Thanks for the help. email me at DDTPRM@hotmail.com
That's all for now.

Well, lets see what's new. I put a TRD short shifter on the car. It's pretty nice. also, my friend katey just bought a 91 talon TSi AWD. we went and picked it up yesterday. should be a sweet car to work on. I'm thinking about just selling the MR2 and buying another car. I need something new. I live in the Cleveland area, so if anyone is interested in the car, just let me know at DDTPRM@hotmail.com. Oh, i also replaced the exhaust manifold gasket this weekend. i think that is all for now.
***** 2/20/03 *****
Well, i finally got my exhaust back. I painted it flat black with some engine paint and it looks very nice. I also got a new tip put on and it looks awesome. Sounds great too! Ill try and take some pictures in the next few days. If i have time this weekend ill give the car a little tune-up. It needs it...bad. haha. Of course when i installed the new head unit i forgot to connect one of the remote wires...so when i pop a cd in, the amp turns off. figures. now i gotta take the dash apart again. ahh..headaches. On another note...somone find me a car to buy. I'm getting frustrated looking to no avail.

Check page 3 for a short update on the eclipse.

I ordered some new plug wires from Don Joseph Toyota in Kent, OH. I love that place...they give me 15 or 20 percent off everything i buy. I gotta go pick them up tomorrow. Oh, i also got my new oxygen sensor. In other news, i have switched places of residence for about the next 3 months...so i will be bringing the MR2 over here as soon as i get a nice day. Ive got some work to get started on... Check out page 3 for an update on the eclipse situation.
***** 1/10/03 *****
I installed a new cd player. Well, almost new. I got it off a guy at work for a good price. He used it about a month. I took a picture of it. Its a panasonic. I think im gonna buy a new amp. The one I have is an absolute piece of garbage. Man...i hate car audio.

***** 1/2/03 *****
Happy New Year. I forgot something...a few weeks ago i put a new cone air filter on. my foam element Weapon R filter was cashed...i also ordered a new O2 sensor a few days ago...so i will put that on as soon as it comes. I still need new plug wires though.
***** 12/31/02 *****
I did a short update on page 3...the eclipse. Oh...and i got some new genuine "MR2" floormats. They make the interior look MUCH newer. 40 bills on ebay. I really do not want to go to work tomorrow....did i mention i work at a HONDA dealership??
***** 12/26/02 *****
Well, i hope everyone had a nice christmas. I am updating right now on my brand spankin new computer. Maybe i will update more often now. By the way, i realized i havent updated the other 2 pages (integra and eclipse) in 6 months! I must be slacking. Each car has a whole bunch of new things going on. I will try and update both pages in the next few weeks along with some new pictures for each car, including mine.

Took the rear section of my exhaust off yesterday. I brought it in to my buddy to grind down the welds and redo them. i had a leak or two. (Muffler Man in Twinsburg, OH) He is also going to put a new tip on for me. Something that looks better... The old one looked like crap. I bought some new spark plugs...im trying to see if i can get this thing to run right. I got NGK Iridium IX. Now i just need to buy some new wires. any suggestions? i want something of good quality, yet not too expensive. well, im still looking for a new car. still looking at a newer MR2 turbo or an RX-7. its gonna take me a while to find a good one though. merry christmas.
***** 12/11/02 *****
Well, nothing really new. It is now snow and salt season in ohio, so that means the MR2 is in the garage for the winter. Other than that, i put a new battery in the other day because the old one took a s**t. I am looking for a new car now. This MR2 just isn't good for a daily driver anymore and i'm sick of putting money into it. It's running like crap lately and i'm sure it needs a rebuild. and thats not something im willing to do right now. I am not sure exactly what i want though. a newer MR2 turbo would be nice..94 or 95. but those are quite rare and hard to find. or maybe an RX7...i dont know. if you have any suggestions, email me at DDTPRM@hotmail.com. by the way....i plan on keeping this MR2. i just cant bring myself to sell it. that and it would be a great project to get this thing running good again. but like i said, nothing that i have the time or funds to do right now.
***** 11/8/02 *****
Ok, i'm looking for a GReddy SP exhaust for a 91-95 MR2 non-turbo. can anyone help me out? ill even take used if its in good shape. lemme know! DDTPRM@hotmail.com thanks!!

Heeeeey...look who's back. i have a whole bunch of new pictures for you and some new information. As you can see...i am sporting a shiny new set of wheels. The old wheels had a run in with the edge of the road...fell off the side of the asphalt and landed on the inside lip of the rim. toast. i was riding on the stock wheels for a while...but everything is wrong with a 14 inch wheel. so i got these. and i am very happy with them. i think they make the car look great. I installed a set of Hotshot headers...4 into 1...no catalytic converter. shhh dont tell ;) i only have a single exit exhaust now...its quite a bit louder too. oh well..its all good. the exhaust does smell like hell though without the cat. my old amp died...so i just bought one of those 760W pioneer amps. it was cheap...so thats why i got it. i dont care that much about car audio...but i couldnt stand having absolutely no bass at all. haha. well, here are some new pictures. and if i think of anything else, ill add it. id like to know what you think of the car...email me at DDTPRM@hotmail.com or post a message in my guestbook. see ya.

big changes have taken place...wheels are gone...new ones are on the way. exhaust is gone...new one is already on. and a new engine may be on the way. i will do a full update with all the info soon, i promise.

at last! i am able to update. i am pleased to say that i have a brand new clutch in the MR2. it was a long and tedious job. it took myself and a couple guys 7 days to finish. we had no shop or service manuals. all we had was tools, a lift, and some spare afternoon and evening time after work. we just went on our own knowledge. and when we were finished, we had nothing left over, and everything works great. we installed a Sachs high performance clutch which i got a great deal on...175 bucks. it helps to know people! i really dont feel like writing down every last detail of the job, so if you would like more information about it, feel free to email me at ddtprm@aol.com i would be happy to tell you about it or help you out with any questions you have. in addition, when we took the suspension apart, we discovered that my rear brakes were shot. i needed new calipers. the bill for 2 new calipers, 2 rotors, and 2 sets of brake pads was about 240 bucks. not too bad at all. i know i promised you pictures, but the bad thing is, for most of the job, my camera was OOS. i did get it back for the last day or two and i got a few shots with the tranny back in. some of the biggest hassles with the job were: putting the tranny back in, finding where all the tranny bolts were hiding, waiting for brake parts to come in, and bleeding the damn clutch! (took almost 2 hours!) if you look at 7 days and get nervous, dont be too alarmed, a lot of days we couldnt do much, as we had to wait on brakes before we could finish. it could have been finished in 4 or 5 days. also, those worried about a lift...the lift was nice at some points, but also a hassle at others. it definitely can be done without one. and the big question...would i do it again? yes. would i do it alone? not a chance in hell.
the freshly cleaned tranny after reinstallation...

we realized later that it was unnecessary to remove the exhaust. oh well...

the MR2 up on the ol' lift with the suspension taken apart...

the katey lookin' pretty...

brett under the car taking a break...

nixon...

well, i havent updated in about 2 weeks, so i thought id give you the run down. my clutch is being ordered tomorrow, and i will be installing it in a week or two. yes...i am doing it myself. i will take pictures of the whole procedure, dont worry. it will be a major pain in the ass, i have to drop the axle. yikes. any suggestions before i start the project? and yes...i have a lift to use. my friend and i will be doing the project over at least 2 days...or however long it takes. and my paint is on its way... i just decided on the stock color. you cant go wrong with toyota crimson red. gotta love free paint! so anyways, here are some pictures:
rolling on the freeway...

more freeway action shots...notice the cinnamon scent spongebob squarepants car air freshener. pure class...

brett, the mechanic...

waiting to take a run at the track....

some chicks posing in front of the MR2...

attention everyone!!! ...my clutch officially sucks. i was messing around yesterday, and i could keep up with my friends integra gsr, but then everytime i had to shift, my shitty clutch would lose it for me. that is all...
***** 5/18/02 *****
hey, check out my friend eric's new ride. he got it yesterday. its a 98 Eclipse GS-T 5 speed with 43K miles. its very nice. it is on PAGE 3.
***** 5/15/02 *****
i got my new wheel yesterday, and i put it on. i took some pictures of the dented wheel to show you what the pothole did. yikes. well, now my car is healthy again and the annoying shimmy from the dented wheel is gone. so thats a good thing. some other things...i took off the seatbelt shoulder pads becase i hate the damn things, and they are tacky. i also removed the vanity pedal from the accelerator. i found that it was restricting the travel of the accelerator. and we wouldnt want that, would we? thats all for now.
the outside of the rim. ouch!

the inside of the rim. yep. all the way through. i told you it was a mean pothole!

***** 5/8/02 *****
well, as everyone knows...there is always something... yeah, i had to order a new wheel. i hit a wicked pothole the other day and it bent the right front rim pretty badly. somehow though, the tire held up and didnt even lose pressure. put it this way...the impact ripped my amp off its mounts on the wall of the trunk. figures. so for the time being, i have to take it easy until my new wheel arrives next week. as far as other things go, i found someone to paint my car. he said if i cant get paint, he will do everything for 1200. hopefully though i can get the free paint which will make the job MUCH cheaper. also, i got someone to help me with the tranny. he can get me a performance clutch at cost, which is definitely a good thing. however, this pothole incident does not help my finacial situation. we'll see.
***** 4/30/02 *****
My transmission has been getting fairly loose lately. im going to put it up on a lift and check it out. i think it just needs to be tightened and adjusted. I need to get it ready for the track this season! :) Also, I bought a new digital camera, and so i decided to take a few pictures. its a really nice camera...it takes great pictures. i really had to turn down the quality to post them on this website or they are just too big. anyways, enjoy:
here is the PCM i installed a few weeks back.

these are stainless steel door sill plates. they were only available on MR2's in japan.

here is a picure of the y-pipe into the dual mufflers on the exhaust.

the drivers side muffler and exit pipe.

the passenger side muffler and exit pipe.

and my dog got pissed because i was taking pictures of my car and not him. should have used the flash.

Well, change of plans. It no longer really seems feasible for me to do an engine swap right now, so i am going to hold off on that. i am, however, still planning on painting the car. i talked with a friend whose father works for sherman williams automotive. and he is going to get me some experimental paint for very cheap or free. i think i might just stick with red. it will keep down the cost. so that is good news. i am just now looking for someone to do the painting job. can anyone recommend anyone in the northeastern ohio area that they think does a excellent job for a good price? on another note, i am going to start looking for a second car. this time around, i am going all out with a 1994 or 1995 MR2 turbo. if anyone has one for sale or knows of one, please email me at DDTPRM@aol.com. i am still planning on keeping this car unless something comes up that i cannot keep it. sorry, no new pictures this time.

This past week I installed a JET V-Force Power Control Module. It wired directly into the manifold vaccuum sensor and the throttle position sensor. i mounted the unit in an empty spot on my dash. To go along with the increase in spark the unit tells the ignition to produce, i threw in some new bosch platinum 4's. It seems to work nicely. i have dfinitely noticed an increase in throttle response and power comes much smoother now. The engine seems to run stronger now. i ran down to summit racing and they had it in stock, and myself and 2 friends got to work right away. however, little did we know what a nightmare it would turn into. it took us 10 hours over the course of 2 days. included were a trip to Don Joseph Toyota for some wiring schematics, a trip to the local library, and 3 calls to tech support at JET. during those calls, i talked to 3 different people, and got 3 different answers. surf bums really dont know much about engine wiring. as it turns out, we had it wired the right way the first time, but were mislead by crappy instructions and phone calls. lesson learned? get yourself a set of shop manuals for your car. i am happy with the results though. i payed 229.95 for the module, and something like 25 bucks for 4 plugs at autozone. all said and done...it was a good investment. a main reason i chose this module is because when i do swap this engine out, and i can reuse this on the turbo engine.

It's been a while since i have done anything to this page, so ill tell you where im at. ive had the car for about a year now, and ive added some things since then. i have a Weapon-R intake, a custom dual exhaust with twin Magnaflow mufflers and twin 4 inch tips, a TOM's air scoop on the drivers side, suspension techniques lowering springs, Trust front strut tower bar, ADR 17" wheels with Kumho tires, a custom interior to match the exterior color and random interior goodies such as indiglo gauges and carbon fiber gauge trim. the car runs and sounds great. when i was going for the exhaust, i wanted something no one else had. i also didn't want an exhaust that sounded like every other civic and integra. for that reason i strayed away from kits. so i enlisted some professional help, and over the course of a few days, we drew up plans for a custom exhaust. a Y-pipe split into dual Magnaflow straight through mufflers positioned at a 45 degree angle to the rear, and after the mufflers, another 45 degree bend straight into the 4" tips. and the end product is amazing. a low engine speeds, it gives out a low, burbly rumble, and at high rpms, it begins to sound like the high pitched roar of a jet engine induction. to this day, i have yet to hear another car that sounds like it. and that was what i was going for. as far as the stereo goes, it is still the same as it was before. as far as i am concerned, i would rather hear the music of the engine. but if you must know, i have an aiwa mp3 head unit, a pioneer 2 channel in the trunk, and 2 MB quart subs behind the 2 seats.
...and whats next you ask? a paint job and a j-spec 3SGTE turbo motor swap.
