CAR IS FOR SALE!!!  Price is $9,999 slightly negotiable.  Please do not waste my time with rediculous offers, they will be ignored.  The car has 95,000 miles on the odometer and engine.  Runs flawlessly and make boost effortlessly.  Car has been garaged for 6 years and hasn't even been in the rain for over 3 years.  BABIED!  In my 6 years of ownership, I have put just under 30,000 miles on the vehicle.  I have all the original parts for the vehicle.  Everything has been done right and clean, nothing is "hacked".  Everything has been done me, not by some shop.  I am the second owner.  I hate to sell the car, but it is just the right time for me to do so.  If you are seriously interested , please email me at "ddtprm at hotmail dot com".

I'll be honest...forgot all about this site. It's been 2 and a half years since my last update...classic!

I moved to Dublin in November, 05 which is in the northwest Columbus area. I still have the car, but I don't drive it much, honestly. I put a total of 800 mi on it in all of 2007. I have since aquired a 2007 BMW 335i coupe. I have not done a whole lot modification wise lately. I added an upgraded intercooler about a year and a half ago. I also have some other parts sitting in my garage for whenever i get around to it. Prior to the intercooler, I put a new KO Racing downpipe on after the old downpipe I had cracked.

I had the car on a dyno and it makes about 250 whp, which I was satisfied with.

Here is the new intercooler...you can see it in the upper left corner of the pic. It is behind that SPAL fan.

I'm lazy. 4 and a half months is pathetic.

anyways, after the last update i had a little "incident" involving the new downpipe. evidently, my stock turbo had slowly been dying, and the new 3" downpipe sped up its death. ...it took about a week. i was cruising down the highway and started seeing a large amount of oil smoke coming from the exhaust. i got off the highway and it was getting worse and worse. i limped it home and left a smoke-screen all the way through my neighborhood. it was obvious that i had blown an oil seal in the turbo. the car was down for a while after that. i then bought a turbo from a guy in japan.

ddtprm's 1993 Toyota MR2

its a toyota CT20b turbo from a japanese 1994 MR2 turbo. from the outside, it looks almost identical to my factory turbo. i like that. on the inside its anything but... ceramic impeller wheel for fast spool, high flow turbine housing lets it hold boost way past the engines 7250 redline. its just a much better turbo than the factory unit.

while doing the swap, i replaced the "hose from hell" which is a small coolant hose that runs along the back of the block right below the turbo. its known for dry rotting from the heat and cracking. its a nightmare to change with the turbo on the car, so i just did it as preventative maintenence.

i got some new wheels and tires. my friends have a sponsorship with dunlop so i got free tires in any size. the wheels are 17" staggered 350Z wheels which i got on ebay for cheap. the tires are Dunlop FM901, 215/40/17 in front, and 245/40/17 in rear.

i replaced all the charge pipe worm gear clamps with t-bolt clamps. i had the pipe blow off the turbo one too many times...twice.

First update of the new year. its been a while. i installed a Berk Technology 3 inch downpipe on the MR2 a few weeks ago. i took it out for a test and it MOVES now. the power and torque increases are very noticible. it pulls extra hard in all gears. the only negative is that its frickin' loud as hell now. i think im going to have to put the silencer in the exhaust. other that that, there is nothing else really new. i need to get new brake rotors because i warped the hell out of the current ones last year. i already have new pads ready, i just need to buy the rotors.

Update time. bought a new beater! i got myself a SWEET 92 nissan stanza. ha. but for 400 bucks, it was a STEAL. anyways, i havent been driving the MR2 much lately. its just been chillin in the garage most days. i think i have a bad cold start injector timing switch. its hard to get running on cold mornings because of it. i put a new stereo in the car. i think i am passed the car audio phase. i just want something that looked stock in the car so as not to make the dash look trashy. so thats exactly what i did. i did some research and bought a 1999 4runner head unit. i found out that this radio came stock in the late 90's MR2s in japan. mounted perfectly, lighting matches, sounds good. thats all i wanted. no more bling bling lights and flashy equalizers. heres the radio:

Wow, it's been a while. i have done a few things to the car, but nothing major. put a new set of Yokohama's on the rear. i also installed a TRD rear strut tower brace.

ddtprm's 1993 Toyota MR2

also, i replaced both factory subwoofers with a pair of 5 1/4's by Image Dynamics. they are 100W 2 ohm midbass drivers. they sound awesome! check that carbon fiber cone! my factory subs were blown and sounded terrible.

another thing i did was install brass shift linkage bushings from Speed Source. they improve shifter feel incredibly. all the slop that was there before is gone now thanks to the bushings. i probably wont do much more to the car for a while now. i am in the process of moving and looking for another car to replace my BMW. also, i am in my last semester of school! big changes are afoot... dont fret however, i will try and keep this page updated more often. ive been slaking these last couple of months. thats all for now.

***** 4/6/04 *****
Well, nothing really too new. i put new tires on the front today. Yokohama AVS ES100. i have had good luck with these so far, so i'm going to stick with them for now. I had a bubble on the sidewall of the right front tire, and was getting a low drone at certain speeds, so i figured i should replace them. it turns out there was mud inside the wheel! oh well, now the drone is gone, and i have new tires on. I also replaced the NGK copper plugs the other day. They had about 3K miles on them. oh, i just hit the 75K miles mark.

***** 3/14/04 *****
Got a new 94+ gloss black front lip. its looks sweet on the car. also got the catch can and FCD installed. for the catch can i just fabbed up a bracket and used an existing screw hole from where the old air box mounted. and for the FCD, i descreetly mounted it on the back side of the trunk with a little velcro. i'm now running 14 psi and its feelin' niiiice. im now at 74,600 miles and the motor is as strong as ever. next time i change the oil ill put new copper plugs in. you have to change them about every 5K miles. and i figure i might as well since its just been sitting all winter. anyways, here are some pics.

the new 94 gloss black front spoiler.

recent engine bay photo. the catch can is mounted on the left side there. adds a bit of "bling" to the engine compartment.

I have a few more parts being delivered this week. I bought a HKS FCD and a GReddy oil catch can. now that i will have the FCD, i will be able to turn the boost higher than 12psi. which i am definitely happy about. ill take some pictures after i install the stuff. I took the car out for a little drive the other day. first time since thanksgiving. it was realllllly nice. i am pumped for springtime.

***** 2/6/04 *****
Ever since i bought the car, the 2 stock subwoofers have never worked. So i finally just started ripping the interior apart so i could take the subs and stock amps out and try and do some investigating. but i found a harness which i hadnt seen before. it was just hanging below one of the amps, which happened to have an empty harness socket on it. so i plugged it in, and it works now! im happy that i actually have bass now. just highs and mids sucked bad. the only thing i can think of is that the lady that owned the car didnt like bass and had it unhooked? who knows. another thing...i am going to try to attend at least 2 car shows per week this season. so if anyone in the northeast ohio area would like to join me, let me know!

***** 2/1/04 *****
Well, nothing really too new. i did end up getting a new winter car. it is a 1986 BMW 325e. its not bad at all. anyways, started my car up today for the first time in over 2 months. i thought i would share a new photo with you.

Happy New Year everyone. i got my taillights delivered the other day, and i installed them. They look killer! as you can see in the picture, the center panel is just painted black right now. but come spring im going to have it painted body color. i think it will look a lot nicer. i have had people say it looks good in black though...who knew? this picture is really bad because its taken in the garage at night. as soon as i get a better picture ill put it up.

ddtprm's 1993 Toyota MR2

***** 12/20/03 *****
Well, i bought myself a christmas present last night. Took the plunge and ordered the 94+ taillights. im pretty damn excited about it too. It'll give me something to do while the car sits in the garage... ill take some pictures when i get them!

***** 12/18/03 *****
Well, its been a while since the last update, but its winter, and nothing much is new. The MR2 is in the garage for the winter. I put some new foglight bulbs in because i was not happy with the light output of the stock bulbs. I put PIAA Ion Crystal bulbs in. They give off a bright yellow light...i used yellow because it is the best in bad weather. and isnt that what foglights are good for? I havent driven the car yet with them, so i will give my impressions later on. I will be ordering my 94+ taillights here shortly. Other than that, the car will just be stored for the next few months. Thats all for now.

***** 10/23/03 *****
Installed some NGK copper spark plugs today that are one step colder than stock. hopefully it will help the car run a little smoother. i also bought a new cap and rotor, however toyota gave me the wrong one...figures. so i have to go take those back and get the right ones...which my luck they will have to order. haha. oh, also put new rear tires on yesterday. i got Yokohama AVS ES100's. Havent really had a chance to test them out because of the crummy weather, however they seem to stick pretty well. thats all for now.

***** 9/18/03 *****
Nothing too new since the last update. I am pretty short on funds right now, so dont have much to spend on new mods. I did, however, replace the rubber intercooler hoses with silicone ones from turbohoses.com. i discovered the rubber hose to the throttle body had a 2 inch gash in it. that was where i was losing boost pressure at high rpms. the new hoses solved the problem. the car now pulls super strong at high boost. :)

***** 8/26/03 *****
Well, i finally got my exhaust installed! it was a major pain in the ass getting the stock exhaust off. we ended up having to cut it in 2 places to get it off. but the Blitz NUR Spec went on without a hitch. I am so pleased with it. Fit and finish are second to none. To top it off, it sounds AMAZING. I can definitely tell a performance difference too. The turbo spools much faster and throttle response is better. Also, while i had it on the lift, i changed the gear oil with Red Line synthetic oil. It shifts like butta' now! Oh by the way, i also installed my boost controller ;)

I installed some autometer ultra-lite gauges on the A-pillar. Boost/Vaccuum and Air/Fuel. It was kind of a pain in the ass, but i had fun doing it. I'm still waiting on this damn exhaust. My goal before the end of the summer is to have the exhaust and downpipe on, buy my 94+ taillights, and have my boost controller installed. Im waiting to put the boost controller on until i have the full exhaust on, because the exhaust itself will raise boost pressure about 2 psi. So i dont want to mess with too high of boost levels. Just to be on the safe side.

Well, the columbus meet was great fun. I can't wait to do it again. I installed the shift kit...HUGE difference. I recommend this kit to anyone with a MKII mr2. it is a great upgrade. As far as the boost controller goes, i cant install this until i get some gauges obviously. so hopefully ill have those in the next few weeks. i'm in the process of finding a downpipe right now...that way i can install that at the same time as my Blitz exhaust when that comes in. I'm hoping to have that in about 2 weeks or so. i bought some Redline MT-90 so i can change my gear oil when i have the car on the lift for the exhaust. i heard this was the best stuff you could get for the MR2, so of course i bought it :)

***** 7/8/03 *****
I ordered a couple things today. A Twos R Us manual boost controller, and i also got a Jon O. shift kit with the RSe drop plate. So hopefully the shifter will be a little more precise now ;) I decided on the twso r us MBC for a few reason. one was price. a electronic controller is so much more expensive. second, is the fact that this MBC was made just for the MR2, so you know its tested and works on this application. this saturday im off to columbus for a little mr2 meet. should be a good time. thats all for now.

I ordered a Blitz Nur Spec cat back exhaust today. Im pretty excited about that. 18 proven hp to the wheels! i should be receiving my A'PEXi intake on july 3rd along with my TRD oil cap. haha. So that will give me something to do over the holiday weekend. The only other thing ive done is steam clean the carpets (looks awesome now) and put a TRD high pressure radiator cap on. It holds 1.5 bar instead of the stock 1.3. oh well, haha. Thats it for now. ill get some pictures of the intake install and post them up.

***** 6/17/03 *****
I just thought i would post a few more pictures. These were taken at work (Classic Honda in Streetsboro, OH). The MR2 is sitting next to my buddy Keith's Fiero GT. Its a sweet car. Of course its raining as usual...

Well lets see...i ordered an intake. I got the Apex'i intake because i heard it gave the best power gains of any intake for the mr2 turbo. I went yesterday to buy some nology hotwires, but Summit was out of stock...so i have to wait till the end of the month when they get more. after that stuff...ill see if i can order my exhaust. I think im probably going to get the KO Racing dual exhaust and downpipe. Looks great and gives great power gains. After that...well, i havent totally decided. Maybe a Greddy Profec-B boost controller ;) Thats all for now.

Well, i got my new car today. I took delivery of a 1993 MR2 turbo. the color is turquoise pearl with tan leather interior. its quite nice, and had 66,750 miles when it rolled off the truck. It felt great to get back into a MR2. Im really going to enjoy it, i can already tell. Ill post some pics up tomorrow if i get a chance. thats all for now.
