Update 8/30/05: The truck has been totalled. :( I was following a denali on a 4 lane highway, speed limit 45. had about 2 car lengths following disitance. next thing i know, the denali is hard on the brakes and swerving really hard into the right most lane (we were in the left). Just then i see a cadillac deville clip him and head straight at me at about 45 mph. Im estimating a 80 mph combined collision. Completely his fault. I didnt think i had any time to react at all, but the brake pedal which was bent back at a 90 degree angle indicates i had been on the binders hard. broke 3 bones in my foot... no other injuries miraculously, especially for a truck with no airbags.
One more thing... i had a steel frame tonneu cover on the truck... about 3 seconds after the impact was said and done, it fell right out of the sky next to my truck. with that kind of delay, it had to have launched 20 feet into the air. and it was locked on too.

This is my '92 GMC Sierra... nothing too special, but its just a daily driver. Ive got a camaro for a weekend toy :D

Background Info:
This truck was purchased brand new in 1992 by a friend of our families. This guy special order it, and it has proven to be extremely unique... ive never seen one exactly like it. He owned it for its first 80,000 miles. The truck was driven like a grandma and pampered like a baby durning his ownership. He put it up for sale in (im guessing) 1996 for 10k. My dad saw it for sale shortly thereafter, and because he knew his driving and maintainance habits, he slapped down the money without even test driving it. My dad then proceded to take care of it, and drive it like a grandma until i bought it off of him in early '02 with 159,000 on it. Even with that many miles the truck was a lot nicer than what the majority of kids my age had.
The truck currently is currently sporting 193k miles, and she's still running like a champ on the original 350 and 700r4 trans which unlike the past two owners, i have not been so easy on. (i take care of it as good or better though). I was contemplating picking up a new colorado recently, but upon given an outrageous quote i changed my mind and decided to keep this truck throughout the end of college. I love everything about it, so im putting some money into refreshing it this summer. Im doing a slow 'semi-restoration' i guess you could say.
