Introduction
I bought this car back in '97 after spending nearly a year looking for the right one. I didn't really want a red car, but I hadn't seen an SE-R in such nice condition, so it couldn't let it get away. I took the picture below way back in 1998, and at this point, the car was running 15.2 second quarter-miles - unstripped, and on skinny, all-season Dunlops! Not too bad considering the only mods I had then were a cone filter intake and a header!
And this is how the car looks today.
Through the years, I've added lots of go-fast parts, and my best drag run was a 14.6 second pass. Since then, I swapped in a JDM SR20VE, which is putting down 204 hp and 155 lb-ft at the wheels (that equates to approx. 245 hp and 180 ft/lbs at the crank). There's even more hp to be made once I optimize the fuel and timing maps.
