Titled in 1985, this kit was built by me. The kit came from a company in Canada. It was the only kit that I could find at the time that was built with hand laid fiberglass matt and roving rather than with a chopper gun. The hand laid glass is lighter and tougher, less likely to crack, than the chopper gun produced kits of that era. It has roll up windows which was also hard to find in a kit. The windshield is from a chevy chevette. Miles on the new (not rebuilt) 1600cc duel port engine are about 41k. I did not modify the engine other than a higher capacity oil pump and roller rockers to maximize life. Alternator conversion, 09 distributor, 2 barrel carb, electronic ignition, external oil cooler, spin on oil filter with oil thermostat. The filter is full flow but oil only flows thru the cooler when it is hot. I dove this car year round. It has German heat exchangers that are not rusted out. Stiffer rear 27 mm torsion bars keep the car flat when cornering. I filled all cavities, rockers and fender areas in front and behind doors with urethane foam to absorb impact in an accident. The car has never been in an accident. Car handles well. When pushed to the limit in the corners, it will not spin out but instead will 4 wheel drift and all you have to do is back off on the throttle to bring it back into control. Front end is light and I do not recommend driving in snow even though I have. I have recently spoken with the man who designed this car and he based his design on the 70's era Lotus Esprit as seen in "The Spy Who Loved Me" James Bond movie (the car that went under water). There were only 75 to 80 kits made and most came to the US.
