The Reborn Challenger is a Proper Piece of American Muscle

Nuts and Bolts
When the initial shots of Ma Mopar's reborn Challenger started circulating, one of the things everyone was talking about was the fact that the hood looked a little too short. Well, we can assure you that when you're sitting behind the wheel, it doesn't look short—it looks like a football field. Our favorite part about the Challenger was its 372HP 5.7-liter V8—lighting up the tires is easy as hell. We also loved the hill assist feature, which made navigating the steep inclines of Seattle's slippery roads a little less stressful.

What's New
A six-speed manual is available.

Turn Ons: Muscular styling, tire-smoking potential, roomy interior.

Turn Offs: It feels gigantic, which can take some getting used to.

Goddamn, I love this car. After selling my plum crazy 1972, I needed a new one. I said in 2007 that I would not buy a new one unless they came in plum crazy purple. Well, Dodge listened and made a few in plum crazy....2332 of them to be exact. 1393 of them were R/T classics. This is one. I told my dealer "I have 3 requirements. 1) must be plum crazy purple, 2) must be a V8, no 6 cylinder, and 3) must be a manual." He listened and searched. He found 3 new ones left in the US. Done deal.

I feel in love with the '70-'71 models at an early age and have wanted one ever since. When the Challenger came out again I knew I needed one. The time wasn't right for me in 2008. Now I have a great job that has allowed me to have my dream car. It doesn't matter how clean or dirty the car may be, people still turn their heads and point their fingers.

This is our baby, quite the money pit also. Seems like every time we get a mod on, we are already thinking of something else to do! Absolutely LOVE this car though, definitely highly recommend one to anybody. It may not put down the fastest times at the track, but it gets many more looks and attention then any Camaro or Mustang.

I was waiting for a car like this to be available to buy since I got my license over 10 years ago. My dad had an unforgettable 69' Roadrunner 383 coupe when I was a kid, and since those are unavailable, this is the next best thing. I just wish there was better roads and less traffic to be able to use this car properly.

I have had the car about a month now and it has changed significantly from stock since then. Before this I had a GT Mustang which I traded in when I bought this car. The Mustang was lighter and quicker with more precise steering but it didn't have the same comfort, room, power or style or individuality that the Challenger has. Also, since it was so much lighter it never felt quite as under control to me as the Challenger does. This car is an instant celebrity everywhere it goes. Everyone of every age loves it. Even people with "better" cars recognize its greatness. It inspires the same awe and fascination in HemiCuda, Viper, and GT500KR owners as it does for teenagers in econo cars. The best thing about it is the way SS Camaro owners' snap their necks staring at it when it goes by.

Purchasing the car I knew I would want an audio system, but 2 simple 12W7's weren't enough, I never have anyone in my back seat so, here what we came up with. I'm very happy with the turnout.. (for now). Currently working on supercharging the vehicle.

I had full intentions to buy a 2010 Camaro SS. I test drove both the Camaro 2SS and the Challenger R/T while shopping around. Although the Camaro was a powerhouse I felt more comfortable driving the Challenger. The Challenger’s interior and features are a lot better in my opinion and still hauls ASS!!

This is the first large purchase my fiance and I have made so far... So far it handles and rides better than we both had imagined-- very smooth and sometimes you dont realize how fast you are going. I love the interior especially at night. My fiance loves the Ipod cable so he can listen from it directly during his long commute to work. I love the large sunroof which brightens up the dark interior... its just bad ass.

This is my second Challenger, first was a 2009 SE V-6 daily driver. I purchased the S/E in June and then traded it in on a 2010 Challenger R/T Track Pak car. Mild mods so far including exhaust, intake, hood struts, striping and a few other things.

The 2010 Dodge Challenger is available as a new, limited edition "Plum Crazy" model. The rest of this retro-styled sporty car lineup sees no major changes otherwise. Challenger is rear-wheel drive and seats five. A 6-speed manual is available on the R/T and models so equipped have 376 hp. All manual-transmission Challengers have a hill-holder clutch that holds the brake for three seconds to aid the driver when launching the vehicle on an incline. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, and curtain side airbags. Keyless engine start is available, along with Chrysler's Uconnect multimedia suite, which can include a wireless cell phone link, 30-gigabyte hard drive for storing digital music and picture files, and a navigation system. The R/T and SRT8 Plum Crazy have specific paint and trim reminiscent of early-1970s Challengers, which used that color.
