RARITY AND COLLECTIBILITY
There is a debate about the 'collectibility' of '98-02 LS1 Camaros. GM stopped production in 2002. They very well may be the LAST Camaro.
First Generation Camaros (67-69) are widely sought after and rapidly appreciating. Only time will tell if the 98-02 LS1 cars will develop the same status.
(Who knows, maybe we will be seeking pristine Honda Civic Si's!?)
BUT, if they do.....
These cars are MUCH more rare!

ONLY 34,140 LS1 SS's were EVER built over FIVE years. There were more SS's in 1969 alone.
Even the $ 60,000 RS/SS Convertible Z11 Pace Car pictured above had 3,675 siblings.
There were 7,580 1st Gen SS Converts ( 3 yrs )
There were 6,569 98-02 LS1 SS Converts ( 5 yrs )
Bright Red and Black are the most popular colors for every generation of Camaro, but Pewter is a unique color that will become a collector's choice. Pewter came out in very late 1998 ( only 63 were made in 1998, none were SS ) and became GM's most popular color for retail vehicles across all model lines ( you could get it on everything from Silverados to Suburbans ).
If you want to find another car like mine, there were only 358 Pewter 6 spd SS Convertibles EVER made.
There's another consideration to the collectibility debate....SLP NEXT PAGE-->>
