This is my 71 Camaro. I have had this car since I was 16, and this thing has been with me everywhere.
Before I start rambling on, if you have any suggestions as to future mods you would like to see, please write them in the guesbook, I will consider any opinions. I try to answer all emails and guestbook questions.
Stats
Currently, she's powered by a 355 with Dart Pro aluminum heads, mild camshaft, forged pistons, fully balanced, RPM Airgap intake, MSD ignition, and approx. 9.5:1 compression, T56 6 spd manual tranny, with billet flywheel, Centerforce dual friction, and a 3" aluminum driveshaft. The six forward gears are a total blast, and rowed by a Ripper shifter. A new 3.73 posi rear takes the torque, and it currently rolls on 17x8s and 17x11 American Racing Cobras.
I have another supercharger set on the bench, an ATI Procharger, that should be plenty more fun when that time comes.
The suspension consist of Hotchkis front and rear springs, 1.25" swaybar in the front, and Edelbrock shocks all around. Details were paid attention to as I ground and fully welded the subframe for extra rigidity. There is nothing rubber on the suspension now, all poly; and Global West solid body bushings keep it from twisting into a pretzel. More body mods to follow.
Some of the future work I plan on doing is to plumb in an electric fuel system, as I have already well surpassed the stock abilities. (also, no track times as of yet, being that the nearest track is quite a distance.)
Caltracs have replaced the Comp Eng. slappers.
I also have a rear T/A disc brake setup that Im debating as to install, or go a more modern route. (LS1)
Ultimately, the aluminum headed 355 with blower will end up in the 57 seen on page #3. An engine built by Super Chevy with virtually the exact same parts and specs put out 600hp.
On the body end of mods planned are to basically smooth it out, keeping a fairly stock, but cleaned up look. There is one major mod Ive just recently considered, but without going into too much detail, Im considering going old school hot rod, and extending down the rockers while widening the base. What Im picturing will make the car appear far lower, wider, more modern, without reducing any ground clearance, and subtle enough to make you look twice.
Im not a shaved door handle fan, but there's a really good chance I'll find something more streamlined.
In the future, you may see the short rear spoiler be returned for the tall 3 piece the car came with. I blame Hotchkis' F-71 Camaro for making me change my mind back again.

In the following pages, Ill show some pictures of a few different steps the car has taken.
