Here is a pic of my new fuel rail and its new fuel pressur regulator (FPR). Since I had the chance to replace the FPR I took it. Before I parked the car I kn... Show moreew I had a injector/FPR issue. I will be switching to a adjustable FPR when I start my EEC/injector swap in a few months.
Now mounting this FPR was really weird, you see they make 3 fuel rails for the 2.3T. Any the older one ( my cars) had a place on the FPR pad where the FPR is counter sunk. The middle fuel rail which I'm using has a flat non counter sunk FPR pad that uses a spacer. I actually bent both the FPR and FPR pad on the rail trying to get it to set flush lol A good friend off TurboFord.Org (Jaime) sent me a spacer and it works great, I just need to flatten out my mistakes.
The last little pice I got done so fair is the turbo assembly. I bolted up the waste gate, mainifold, and turbo last night.
You would have died laughing at me when doing this part. It has been so long that I was forgetting everything. I forgot the gasket so I had to take it a part for that. Then I forgot the "Y" bracket so blah blah lol
*** Always use the "Y" bracket because it helps keep the mainifold from cracking. Even a E6 will crack without it. Also try not to completely tighten up the "Y" bracket nuts until you got the bottom bolt started in the engine block. this will allow you to align that hole and then tighten it all up *** Show Less
Well the last pice of the puzzle is here I hope that is :) As you all know I had the lower intake powder coated just to save time on sanding etc. Here is a f... Show moreew pics of what it looked like before and what it looks like now.
Once I clean it up from spots that got on gasket surfaces I will begin reassimbling the car. Show Less
