Well Hello again to all, been a while since I posted anything new up but here it is, I got rid of the 403 olds in the bay, which is now sitting on a drag rac... Show moreing tire on my garage floor, and put in a 455 olds.
The 403 has done her time, may she find refuge under the hood of some other car now.
The 455 project was pretty extensive, subframes were installed, the body bushings were changed, the brackets had to be modded, the 403 headers had to be modified as well but they fit.
The motor itself was a wallet killer made to my specs, here's a small list of what in there:
-edelbrock olds cyl heads
-edelbrock olds performer intake manifold
-750cfm Mighty Demon Carb
-SpeedPro Forged Pistons
-MSD distributor, Superconductor, and HEI coil
-1 3/4 " 403 Headers
-Harland Sharp roller rockers
-Crane Cam .484/.514
-Moroso oil Pan (7L)
-Miladon Fixed Gear Drive
-mallory fuel pump & regulator
-Flow Master 2.5" H pipe
There is the motor, little over 500hp at the flywheel, now I need a new Transmission because of that reason, lol.
and to give others an inkeling that there is something special about this TA I got it new wheels and tires to top it off.
There she sits outside my garage.
I know I said on the previous page (posted nearly 2 years ago..I think) that I planned on a $3000 rebuild, but to do what I did, it came close to $20,000 err.. and I figure for the rear end, transmission, interior, body work (including a respray and decals) and suspension I am looking at another $20,000-$25,000. Ah well at the end of it, this will be a very unique and very fast Trans Am it'll be interestng to see what I post another 2 years from now. Show Less
The car is in need of a rebuild, only cause I say so, I want more power, its pretty much stock other than the headers and the 800cfm holley spreadboard carb ... Show moreI put on there. What needs some serious looking at is the interior, its been pissed about with a bit, take a look at the door panels (screwed on)
The car was driven pretty gentle till it met Wolfy (me) and then some small things gave way, like one of the two rear sway bar links.I also need new tires the rear ones are bald...now. I dunno if this pic shows it too well.
I plan on leaving the car looking fairly stock but like I said I am after power, next Summer its going in for a $3000 performance rebuild, I lack the tools to do whats needed myself. Here she is:)
It was either this or rice, and rice is for eating not driving. Show Less
