Like I was saying, it's a car I bought off of Dai Yoshihara at the end of the Formula D season last year. I bought it for parts. I have a 1990 240SX HB b... Show moreut at this point it's nearly completely rebuilt from the ground up with 97 180SX parts. So I guess technically its still a 240SX but it is listed with the DMV as being an authentic 180SX Rebuild, making it state legal. I'll add all the mods when the car is complete. As of right now its still under major construction. I'd say it's about 70% finished so just check back. I just bought a digital camera (I know, I must live under a rock. I'm so way behind the times) so I'll have pics very soon as well as getting the old film developed so I can post the build up in a time line. Show Less
Please stay tuned as this car is going through a major transformation. It's going to be flat black with ghost graphix.
I will also be removing these pix ... Show moreand posting before pix while the car was still red (I found the old camera memory card) and I'll be posting a step by step build of the new revamp. This is called Project Wraith X. PLease be patient with me . Thanx!
Well this Project 180SX started off it's life as a 1990 240SX SE with a KA24E cluncker in it (which has been replaced with a '97 180SX black top SR20) and was factory red (and by factory I mean never touched so oxidized and faded is an extreme understatement) in color. It also had a rusted hatch which means the factory spoiler rusted clear off from the OEM mounting holes leaving cup-holder sized rust holes in an otherwise 90% perfect body. So far I have, myself, sanded and preped-- primered and painted the car Infinite G35 white, add Kouki 180SX tail lights and replaced the rusted hatch with a carbon-fiber one from GTP and returned the factory spoiler for the time being. Also I've add a cheap ass set of rims I bought from a buddy of mine.
I plan to turn this car into a right hand drive (RHD) 1997 180SX Type X (Kouki for those in the know). That means full Kouki factory body kit, interior, folding mirrors (which if anyone knows where I can sources those please let me know), Kei Office Dori Dori rims, the works.
I'm in college right now so it's going to be a pretty slow build but I don't want this ride sponsor built like my '97 180SX for the '06 Formula D season because once they fully sponsored it I couldn't drive it on the street anymore. They basically bought it from me for me to drive for them. Do I mind? HELL NO! I get to drift!!! In a car I don't have to pay for! IT'S AWESOME!!!
Just keep checking back. I'm going to try to document the entire build up from this point as well as post before pics from before these pictures.
Hope everyone enjoy! Show Less
