Well now to the CAR I am currently projecting on! Well I was on the freeway a year and a half ago, and the motor just decided to take a crap on me!! So my bo... Show moress towed me home and the car has sat ever scince.
Been debating on what motor to drop in or just toss the car. Well a fren of myne was gonna install a SR into his 95 240sx, so I asked him how much for his motor and everything. HE said $200 I was like flies on $#!T haha
Well I tried to help install the SR so I could get my motor faster....and I did. and here is how it went.....
this is the original motor..supprising how much electronics are in this dinosaur! haha
This is what it looked like after almost 6months. Thats when I was in the deciding stages on what motor...CLEAN AH! Show Less
well before installing the motor, I decided to install an S14 radiator and some elec fans...at the moment it is GHETTO RIGGED, meaning I just zip tied it on,... Show more I will fix it tho.Motor was then dropped in and wired up. pretty simple, S13 and S14 are plug and play. BUT some things need to be changed TPS, Distributor, and MAF from an S13 are needed to use on an S14 motor. They were easy to come by. UPDATE-found out that u may use the S14 distributor on the S13, just need to rewire it to work (I didnt bother) Well here it is the INSTALLED MOTOR! KA POWER! Kinda dirty, but it was cleaned up. but guess what...you dont know where to put the wire loom for that wiring harness do you!? here it is, 240s ECU is on the PASS side, and 200s on the driver side. SO what I did was drill a 2 1/8" hole into the firewall, and setup the ECU in the pass kickpanel side. kick panel doesnt cover it up too well tho, actually not at all, so use your own descretion on where u want it to go. OK now for some small things left out. I will try to get pix and update accordingly.
side by side comparrison of the S12 and S13 throttle cable. As you can... Show more tell the S12 is shorter. So I installed the S13 one, BUT
as u can see in this pix kinda in the middle of it, the trottle cable for teh S13 is approx 1" too long, so I went and found some bushings and
took out the gas pedal. Takes 2 10mm bolts to take out, very easy. so with the bushings installed and grabbing 2 longer 10mm bolts, the gas pedal and throttle cable meet accordingly, and now I have a gas pedal that sits up a bit further. S12 owners would know taht the gas pedal sits pretty far down.
Now on to the trans.. Show Less
I also went ahead and purchased new Calipers and pads for a Z31. Also picked up a new Z31 Brake Master Cylinder. Rotors are next on the list. I needed new... Actually came with "FREE" rims haha...in great shape too. these are it..some 195/50/15's THE FINISHED PRODUCT...well not quiet yet. I need to do a few more things...then its on to Turboing it :) Show Less
