Here are some pics of my REAL car. Her Nickname is "Darlene" (don't ask). She's a 1973 Chevrolet Nova SS 350, well it used to be a 350 anyw... Show moreay hehe. What happened to it? well the guys who put the most recent cam into the 350 didnt break it in properly causing improper and irregular wear of the cam and the eventual destruction of both the lifters and the heads. Even with an improperly worn cam, it did a 13.1@107mph with very little traction when the engine was running at its best BEFORE the lifters and heads got really screwed up. The 350 had the following mods:
*Vortec Heads ported and polished
*Comp Cams Xtreme energy 268 cam
*Edelbrock Performer Intake hand ported and smoothed
*Comp Cams 1.5 ratio roller rockers
*Crane cams hardened pushrods
This is a KILLER combination as long as you have a properly tuned carb. The numbers speak for themselves (334rwhp untuned). The car is now sporting a freshly rebuilt 454 Big Block fully rebuilt and bored .30 over(460). My Nova also has
*Flowmaster 2.5" exhaust
*Hurst Competition Plus Shifter
*"Four-Gear Trans" rebuilt Muncie M-21 with custom gearing!
*Traction bars in the rear
*Richmond Gear 3.73 posi rear end gears
*Centerforce II clutch
*Moroso Super Cool can
*Custom Tuned SMI Quadrajet carburetor by me and my dad (Holleys suck!)
*Rear air shocks
*GM Ralleye style rims
With the 350, it dyno'd at 334rwhp and about 350rwtq. With the new *cough*460*cough*, we dyno'd at 431wtq and 320whp but the engine was only making 5psi oil pressure at idle, so apparently we had a problem. Motor is now being rebuilt again. Oh, and for the record, the car is equipped with a 4spd Muncie Close-ratio manual trans.
Here are some new pics of my 454 powered Nova!!
Here's a shot of the brand new 454 Big Block in my Nova!
Fills up the engine compartment REAL nice hehe. Did I mention I can roast the tires into 4th gear at over 70mph? :D
Oh, and dont talk trash about the Moroso Supercool can. That insulation was just a quick rig-up, we'll do a better job soon lol.
Here are some older pics of my Nova before the repaint and before the new 460 Engine:
MAN I can't wait to start beating up on some Mustangs with this thing again! :) Show Less
