In June, I brought the car into a trannyshop to have my Unorthodox Racing Lightweight flywheel and Centerforce Dualfriction clutch installed. I also had purchased a transmission that was supposed to be out of a 92-94 Maxima SE, which had a VLSD differential. It ended up being a regular, open-type differential, which the 88 SE already has. I quickly purchased a PhantomGrip LSD conversion kit for the 95 Maxima application and custom fit it into the Second Gen 5 speed transmission.
Fitting the PhantomGrip required that the spider gears be ground down by 0.062" each on the inner face. The shaft that holds all the gears in place is also smaller on this transmission, so I fabricated some bushings to eliminate some of the play. Show Less
