This is my 1981 Dodge Ramcharger.
I've had her for over a year, and she's gone a long way from where she was. I picked her up in Phoenix AZ and... Show more drove her home. It was a bit nerve racking since the alternator didn't work and we had to stop in Phoenix at wal mart to buy a battery to make it home. (Parts stores were all closed by the time we figured it out) Funny story in this trip, when i went into wal mart for the battery, my husband and kids stayed in the car (my truck was sitting along a highway with a dead battery) when i came out with the new battery, this car came squeeling out of a parking spot right next to my car. They about run me over while flying down the aisle, and squeel tires out of the parking lot. After i get back to the car, my husband told me that the car next to him just got stolen!!! I was relieved that my truck was still sitting where i parked it!!! When we finally got into the truck, we noticed the wiring was a mess, and my husband spent a good deal of time fixing it all to make it work. So far i've replaced some wiring, put a lift on her, installed a custom headliner that i did myself, installed a radio, new lift gate shocks, new gas tank float and too many other things too remember! She's got a 318 2 barrel with a 727 auto. I've got manual hubs on her, i like it that way, saves wear on the drivetrain. I also got a different set of tires for her, and i'm tellin ya, she does great on the trails!!! I take her camping and we fold up the seat and sleep in the truck! She's gone down some scarey trails and did excellent. I had another wiring prob crop up a while after getting her... turned out, the neutral safety harness was chopped to hell. So my husband fixed it for me till i can find the part new, the parts stores don't have it available. She's a fun truck, i've gotten her covered in mud and had a smile on my face when i got out!! :)
The headliner, like i said, i did custom. I found the material at Joann's and i thought it went well with the interior, the seats are light blue and the carpet is dark blue. i posted some pics here of the before and after.
Here's a few more pics of the truck getting muddy. These were from this nasty trail down the road from us, it rained the whole time, and my husband had to tow me out most of the way (damn neutral safety harness) and i managed to get her started before this especially nasty part. my daughter was a a freak out fest, she didn't like that spot!!!
