I finally finished building and installing my Gen 6 454. This motor came from a 2000 bus. The motor was originally damaged from hurricane Sandy. After a qui... Show moreck clean up, and new bearings, pistons and rings. I went with a mercruiser M1 roller camshaft, LS5 454 heads ( cleaned up and milled, 2.19 intake valves) this motor should easily make 420 hp, originally i was going to go with higher compression pistons and regrind the M1 cam to XR282 cam specs. But unfortunately i became a full time student and had to make tough choices, but school won out. Im almost finish with the install, i still have some fuel plumbing to do, and verify my timing. But all in all I feel proud for a motor i assembled in my basement and 10x20 garage ( what a pain to install the engine under that condition) Show Less
Last but not least the completed job. To do this it took me easily 4 hours only because my grease gun decided to stop working, i couldnt figure out the prope... Show morer caliper direction, the cotter pin would not remove itself, there were someother stuff, but in the back of my mind i was saying F**K this what did i get myself into.The funny thing is the other side took around a hour, in the same jail cell space, and i was less dirty after.Here are some street pics i took, the car is running pretty good, with the single master cylinder, but i will definatly change it to the duel.
