Injen Cold Air Intake & Heat/Splash Sheild
This was a awsome Mod and one I would recomend as a First Mod for most rides. It gives noticeable gains in Hp & large gains in throttle responce. On top of all that its got a wicked growl and cool whoosh whe the throttle is tapped and the pipe grabs a gulp of air. The Heat/Splash Sheild further insures the air comes from as far from the Engine as posible & its Dirty like Hell so Im glad thats less Dirt on the Filter.
NOLOGY Hot wires
Hot wires give a Much better spark resulting in a complete burn of the fuel. This Doesnt yeild alot of power itself, but Im going to be adding headers and upgraded cams, at this point these mods will benifit from having the wires.
Denso Iridium Spark Plugs
Tsudo 4-1 Headers
They give better flow and increasepower throughout the powerband, and make great high end gains (Arround 10whp added)
Carbon Fiber Exhaust
With the Intake put in I needed to have the Exit cleared up a Bit so I got a Axl Back set up as a Temp untill I get Forced Induction (The Headers were put in after). At that time I will get a Full Cat Back. The Muffler I got off Ebay, and the Pipe from the axl back was a generic part the shop had that worked pretty good, I dont want to do too much here as I will Scap it all anyways later on. I was worried about getting a Nasty Tin can sound so I went Carbon Fiber. It worked out because the Deep Tone is SWEET, it sounds Nothing like a tin can, and being a 2.0L its a little meety.
RR-Racing F/R Motor Mount Incerts
With the added power the wheel hop got rediculous, so F/R Incerts were put in to keep it under check
Mazdaspeed Oil Cap
Just a little something to get rid of the ugly plastic in the engine bay area, I think it Looks Pretty Sweet.
Ive only put in a Strut tower bar as far as suspention MoDZ. The handling on the Protege is Great in stock form, but adding the Tower bar really added stability in the corners. On the other hand the stock engine mounts and beyond crap and this Ride has wheel hop to spare, Im putting in Engine Mounts, and Eibach Sportline Coil over Springs to deal with that, But they arnt going to be in before the end of the Summer of 05.

Interior & Exterior Modz I'll admit have NOT been at the Top of my list, I have trouble spending money on something that wont help performance. Regua... Show morerdless I needed to make the Cockpit more comfortable and more custome.
First thing was to get some contrast. The car being silver, and the interior mostly black, I took out some parts and Painted them silver myself on my balcony. This gave the needed contrast and added a more sporty custome look.
I also needed to rid the car of the Eye sore shifter & boot. I replaced them with a RAZO Shift knob, & a Ractive Boot.
I Threw in some APC pedals and was Feeling nice.
I was jealous of all the 2003 Proteges with Reverse guages, I got myself some, and at the same time I grabbed a Brushed aluminum Guage Bezel insert to keep it diferent.
I did also grab a cheep hand break cover. It suits my needs for now but it is going to be replaced (I plan on getting some Carbon Fiber Inserts for the interior, and I plan to switch it up then. Show Less
