Project Grand Am LE-R: Engine Rebuild
Replaced plugs and wires.
Replaced coolant expansion tube.
Replaced power steering pump an... Show mored pulley, along with the belt.
Finally fixed my oil pan gasket leak.
Replaced fuel injector and fuel filter, fixed fuel pressure regulator (pressure: 14psi, allowable: 9-13psi, fixed: 12psi.
Replaced air filter with K&N high flow air filter.
Tore apart the engine/tranny
And now it's back together and running good Show Less
Project Grand Am LE-R: I'm taking a Grand Am I bought for $300 bucks and dumping a bunch of money into it to see if it can be something special. So first... Show more off here's a pic of the car before I did anything to it. In fact, this pic shows the yard of the dude I bought it from, fellow P3 Customs member Kurtis. I'm planning a bunch of fiberglass work, which includes wide body kit and complete interior. I'm going for Red/Black/Silver color scheme, and all kinds of other upgrades.
December 11, 2005:
I finished rebuilding the engine and finished reinstalling it. Runs good, and has good torque with the 5-speed Isuzu tranny. In RPO terms its a L68 engine with a MT2 tranny.
January 11, 2006:
Currently undergoing interior color change. Also bought Type S seat covers, steering wheel cover, seat belt pads, and floor mats. (pg. 3)
February 1, 2006:
I finished most of the painting (pg. 3) and I got hubcaps temporarily. (pg. 4) I'm being slowed down by bills and random problems right now, but I'll be doing more soon. I did get some more mechanical work done though. (pg. 2)
