Haven't been back in the domain awhile, but was thinking of another project car to work on, then accidents which totaled my 03 Suzuki GV and my other car has... Show more led me to get this 24 year old classic after searching for a decent daily driver while staying off car payments. So this is basically a rare combination of being a project and daily driver, i.e., project daily driver or daily driver project. Right off the bat, had to do front brake pads, need to treat rust underneath, got rid of those plain gray hub caps and will get new alloy wheels with fatter rubber for a more aggressive looking stance in the spring, but will keep the factory steelies for now for the winter season as the tires on them still have decent tread. Has started reliabily and has ice cold AC (and hopefully decent heat as winter is coming). Next to replace is the radio cassette player (lol) and will probably need new rear brake shoes and rear sway bar bushings as I'm starting to hear that little knocking which are typical for these Celicas based on my web surfing. This will serve my need for a fixer upper while getting me to and fro work for now. Pleasantly surprised with the engine performance at over 190,000 miles on the clock and based on the great long term reviews by owners of this model Toyota, I must have been lucky. Glad to have a hobby again.
