Update: Dec. 18th,'05
It has been a while but i'm back. I kinda was giving up on the project and was hoping to get myself a plymouth duster... ened u... Show morep dropping that idea and working with what i have.
Here is some pics of me and my dad pulling the motor.
Long story short, I tore down the 170 to the bare block and took it to the machine shop and they said it was going to need atleast a 0.60 overbore, and they said it needed all new internals and that it would "only" cost $1,250!!! I'm on a forum ( fordsix.com ) and say a guy on there had a motor tranny and two rears for $200 i offered him $75 for the running 200ci and he said ok and $100 with the auto c4 tranny. Well i got it on Saturday and watched it run and shift then pulled it. After i got it home i took off the flywhell and coul;d see shiney freeze plugs, so i think it was rebuilt. i don't think it is possible that a 1970 motor would still be all painted and have silver freeze plugs still. Well ya here is some pics of us pulling it i'm so stoked to finally have a good running motor, and will hopefully drop it in today.
Here is how the engine bay looked, Before and After. I did this yesterday afternoon.
I have more pics i took, but will update it later. Show Less
