this was my issue, i then proceeded to replace those 2 exhaust valves, all the valve seals (which are a total pain if they havnt been replaces before and the... Show more car has 198,315 miles on it), water pump, timing belt, tensioner, head gasket, cam seals, cam end plug, valve cover gasket, spark plug grommets, spark plugs, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket.... im sure there is some other stuff lol. i resurfaced the block and the head along with the intake manifold and exhaust manifold. i put it all back together, adjusted the valves, put coolant in it, and changed the oil and it cranked right up =) all for less than 300 bucks in parts =) runs like a champ now =) Saturday November 20th: after work today (4:30pm ish) i decided i was going to crank it up just for fun. well, it cranked, the rpms went crazy, then stalled out. i tried to crank it again and it wouldnt even turn over so i let it sit for about 5 minutes. then i tried it one more time and it ran great. ever since the previous owner had it the rpms would fluxuate but he said it had never died. after it warms up it will jump around between 1 and 2 grand then settle down at about 800 but if i just rev it a little it will jump around between 1 and 2 grand again and settle back down to 800. idle air control valve? i guess ill replace all the vacuum lines and clean the iacv and go from there. maybe its the cold weather? Sunday November 21st: i went to crank up the car this morning and it fired right up. the rpm's still do weird things but it didnt die. i found out that i have a vacuum leak through whatever this thing is Show Less
